Contact Toyota. If say 20 of us complain about TOB, a small Tech tip might pop up and if we make it more aware to them...say 50 of us, a TSB may appear. When I took my twin to dealer for clutch rattle and shivers, they said only 2-3 others complained, thus, making issue meaningless.

Voice out more~ duh

...or fix this sh!t out of our wallets and hush hush.

So I remembered something. I took this video last December. Took my car into the dealer and gave them the video. They couldn't replicate the sound nor identify where it could be coming from. So they lubed my belts. Now here I am with no car still and out a bunch of money. So yea if your car sounds like this either gamble with your dealer and pray you don't have hot spots like my clutch and flywheel did as they may warranty it out. But you risk and insanely high bill due to dealer costs. Or just go to a third party mechanic you trust and have them do it at half the price. Or do it yourself and save a ton of money. You could also switch to geico, and use that money to cover the throwout bearing. Anyway link here.

Also would lowering the clutch pedal change how the throwout bearing or any of the assembly operates? Specifically would it contribute to increased wear and tear on any parts?

Just contact Scion here

To speak with a Scion Customer Experience Representative, call: 1.866.70.SCION
Mon–Fri 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST

Tell them what's going on and you feel you have been given the run around. Tell them you won't get off the phone until you talk to someone who can make a decision besides "lubing the belts". Have them check your warranty status. Have your VIN ready

Yes indeed. I'm fed up with all the issues I've been having with this car here lately and this just puts the icing on the cake.

This truly sickens me. Any mech worth his/her salt would immediately recognize that noise. Not to be inflammatory but you handed them the problem on a plate and they ignored it.

Only if it was adjusted improperly so the master cylinder pushrod is not kept from fully extending when the clutch pedal is released.

Not to revive an old dead thread but apparently Subaru is coming out with a new version of the throw out bearing in august. Probably because the my17s are out. I'm getting mine fixed then.

Throwout bearing in the FRS is junk. Had mine replaced from factory under warranty at 29k and its squeaking again at 31k. The clutch fork is a stamped piece and is junk. I think thats one of the reasons they go out so quick. I plan on doing a clutch and fork within the next 5-10k it drives me crazy..

Link to better clutch fork.
