Seat heater temperature?
We've had a few cool evenings so I decided to try out the seat heaters but even on rapid acceleration they do not seem to heat up like my buddy's wrx. Now he does have cloth so I don't know how much of a difference that'll make but my seats only seem to be luke warm.

Mine took maybe 30 sec to heat up but they were plenty warm once they did.

I think they're pretty lousy. The heated seats where the sole reason I went for the Limited trim. I drove around for about 90 minutes tonight and alternated between "hey, that's nice" to "uh, is this thing on?". They're apparently thermostat controlled and it feels like there's a HUGE swing between the point that the heater comes back on after it reaches its set temp. So far, it's the only major disappointment I've got with the car.

P.264 of brz manual indicates the rocker switches support two modes: rapid heat and normal heat. Have you played with both?

I couldn't even tell the seats were on in either position. This needs to be fixed.

Exactly what I experience. They heat up rather quickly and it feels great on my back. A few minutes later and I wonder if they turned off.

Your body probably got used to the heat. I haven't really tried them out yet on mine, but my Z has 5 settings for the seat heaters and after a while I can only tell they are on if it is on the hottest setting.

I haven't fully tried the heated seats in my BRZ but I know in my Mitsu Outlander it heats up rather quickly. It gets very warm but then it shuts off temporarily only to come back on about 5-10 minutes later. I think this one does the same where it cycles through on/off.

I also am disapointed in the heated seat.

Haven't tried the heated seats on the BRZ, but on my 2010 Legacy they would burn my ass and back for 10 minutes and then seemed like they would turn off. Maybe all Subaru's have crappy heating systems for the seats...
It was nice for my back when snowboarding or basketball kicked my ass the day before.
