Cobb and EcuTek are tuning software which do the exact same thing, the results are going to come from the tuner who is tuning the CPU.

Good to hear folks are making progress on the ECU.

You can tune almost any setup with an ECU reflash, big or small.

From ECUTek today...

"Hello Bob

We are currently developing the 86/BRZ/FR-S product at present, it should be available in the next few weeks.
90% of the product is complete, just a few final bits so we can release the product.,
We will email details when its release is announced.

Best regards
Mervyn Carroll"

Not neccesarily. For example, EcuTek had speed density tuning long before Cobb did. EcuTek also has better launch control on the GTRs. They've both for their pros/cons.

Epic information. Are you a licensed EcuTEK dealer already? I wouldn't be surprised if you tuned your FR-S before anyone else...

I just got off the phone with P & L and they are ready to purchase the software as well

But yeah - EcuTek doesn't have a USA guy anymore.

When Tactrix starting selling stuff there was no longer a market for EcuTek in the USA... so no more USA guy.

Emailing sales@ecutek.com is the best thing to do. Chris or Merv will get back to you shortly.

They'll be open tomorrow so hopefully if you didn't get already get a response you'll get one soon.

Some of the real open source guys were hired by Cobb to fix things.

Bill from RomRaider works for cobb full time, and David (Tephra Mod) I believe works by contract with Cobb...

So all the EvoX (and subaru) stuff now is really really nice - They're off the shelf maps are simply awesome (evox)

But this took years to happen - EcuTek was the first to support the EvoX.

EcuTek is normally the first to release things... They could have been first with the GTR, but were concerned with certain things so they went back to R & D. It appears this has really payed off for them.

Basically if you come across two different software tuning options that are equal in capabilities then results are really up to the tuner.

But I'm glad your happy with your car - because that's all that really matters

Sooo Let me get this straight... You guys and Crawford are now the US distributor...they must have made you guys one Sweetheart deal..Is it 'Brian' from ECUTEK up in Canada still the go-to guy???

-They must have waived the 10k Buyin and promised more Profit margin.
-Shady Shenanigans from before make me EXTREMELY Leary..
-Promise of Better software...more user friendly interface..
-no-more Repurchasing licenses just for a re-tune????
-Is there 'now' a wide band interface??
-Speed Density???
-Will it still lock the ECU after so many tunes????

Go ahead...tell us .... BTW if you havn't figured it out...Not a nOOb here..

Bill
If you read even half a page of this thread you wouldn't be asking me any of these dumb questions. Becoming a troll will probably end up with the mods coming in here.

Good luck to you

I want people to ask questions...

But you come in here and continue to say the same negative stuff over and over again when I've already CLEARLY answered all your concerns.

If you truly are being genuine then please take 5 minutes of your life and read the entire thread. I'm pretty clear with what's going on.

On a side note if PROTUNERs are looking to purchase the ecutek software you can PM me or email me and I'll help get the order rolling for you.

Thanks

John
