Is that a tuned BRZ? How robust do you think the head/valvetrain and bottom end is to support a higher redline (say 8k-8.5k rpm)?

A little computer knowledge for you. There are 2 types of memory Random Access Memory (RAM) and Read-Only Memory (ROM). Ram is volitile and used to store constantly changing information. It also gets erased once current is no longer going to it.
ROM on the other hand is very stable and very difficult to put data on to. It doesn't need constant power to maintain it's information either. Think an old Nintendo game. Some companies offer a piggyback that will alter data leaving the rom chip, while others like cobb and ecutek will offer a more permanent solution. It does however take a lot of time and research to crack the "chip" and figure out what information is stored where, as well as what is safe to alter without destroying everything. |

I know that Vishnu Tuning has used EcuTek for tuning WRX's and Evo's for years now and they get some pretty impressive results! This is great news! It also shows that the ECU of the 86 twins is tuneable! We'll see many more tuning options in the future!
