Went to a few car shows recently. Went to my local one around the end of July. My brother and 2 uncle's joined me.
- Red '66 IH Custom - '88 Buick Reatta - '63 Nova Wagon ![]() ![]() The next show I attended (Reatta tagged along) was a few town's over in Butler, Indiana for Butler Day's. I had a crowed of people standing around the car before I even got out! So that was interesting. Ended up winning a trophy! I was super excited! Been going to show's since I was 14, when I had my 1st car, and finally won something! Didn't get any pictures because I forgot to put the memory card back in the DSLR. "Best Orphan"

Right! Ha-ha. Like I said, that's all down the road. I'm in no hurry. For the time being, I was thinking on a lip of some sort and diffuser

Are you going to get that OEM diffuser? I put one of those on my car and it really looks nice

Nah, I was thinking something aftermarket. I haven't seen an OEM one in person

Only got the chance to make it to 2 other car shows. Didn't win anything this time around.
Haven't been able to buy new modifications. Had an un-expected job change at work. And I am going to have to get my winter car ready for the cold season. I did however roll over 3,000 miles. Oil change next week is on the list. A family friend is an AmsOil dealer, so I got a deal on oil and a filter. I've been noticing the transmission is rather hard to engage in 2nd-3rd gears and feels grindy. I have read that changing the fluid may help the problem. Decided to just spend the money and get Motul Gear 300 trans fluid. A cousin of mine that works in an import shop told me I should just take it back to the dealer and make them fix it. Figured that would be my next step. A good friend of mine had recently changed his oil and suggested that I pick up a Fumoto quick change valve. Since I had never herd of one, did some research and picked one up. He told me, "Easily the best mod I've done so for for under 20$." I'm sold! I think I'll have to buy one for all my cars! Don't look to bad under the car either. ![]()

Been neglacting this for awile. I'm going to have to do a photo dump here soon.
Small and most resent update: I got a good deal on them. Sadly, I'll be parking the car in a week or 2. Stupid winter. I cleaned the sheet metal when I took out the original lights. It was filthy!! Valenti Tail Lights ( Smoked ) ![]() ![]() ![]()

Funny story about being at this car show. Saw an old guy walk up to my car. (later to find out he was at the Butler, Indiana car show where I had won my 1st trophy.)
He had walked around my car wile I was sitting in my chair and came back to me and started asking me questions about it. He had asked if they still made the car and I told him, "Yes, but I don't see very many of them." He had told me I didn't deserve the trophy and asked me if I knew what an "orphan" in the car culture is. I said, "I believe it's something that's no longer made." He then told me, "Don't you think a '59 Edsel is more into that category? It's complete bulls4!t that you won that trophy and you didn't deserve it!" I had then said, "Wow man, I'm sorry you feel that way. Guess that's the way a participants voting panel goes. I had no control over how many people voted for me and not you. I didn't even put my car into a category." Then to stick it to him and show him I have quite a bit of knowledge in car history, I had said, "Didn't they only produce Edsel's for a short 3 or 4 years? Because they were total shit cars with horrible craftsmanship that no one bought? Didn't Ford lose something like half a billion dollars on that project? It's neat to look at and I suppose that makes it somewhat rare. But that's no reason to come bash me and make an ass out of yourself at an event where everyone is here to just enjoy what we all have in common....the cars. A real car enthusiast enjoys everything and I'm sorry you lost." He started sputtering some cuss words and walked off. The old man beside me had told me, "Man...I would have punched that guy in the nose. Good for you to show him up on the history of Edsel. I enjoyed that very much!" Crazy people. Ha-ha Wauseon, Ohio Super Cruise. 750 cars [ MISSING PICTURES ]

This is how BMW should have built the MINI-not necessarily the big V8 but a FR, RWD hatch. Although I understand that doing so would have contradicted their goal to keep true to the original formula. Otherwise, why keep the name, "MINI"?
As for voiding the warranty for installing the body kit yourself, I can see their point. You would be drilling into the metal in an area subject to being splashed by water. I can't see Subaru (or anyone) covering rust damage under their body rust warranty... |
