Remember the 86 is a Toyota design.
I forgot about that one!
I guess my point is that Toyota may have used that colour because it is convenient and possibly because it is a good seller for Subaru but their marketing team also oked it. If the research said nobody was going to buy it they would not make it that colour just because Subaru told them they had to. They do different colours before, they do now and would again if that was the direction Toyota wanted to go in.

Tcoat remember the Toyota Subaru collaboration so it's not like they aren't working together.
With that said Toyota designed this car and Subaru added the engine and builds the twins in the Fuji Heavy Industries factory.

Question have you seen the GT86 history videos ?

I know the history yep. And of course they are working together (I am not new to the car nor a fool).
Guess I am just not making my opinion clear. I am simply trying to say that this colour was a planned event and not case of "well what Subaru colour are we going to use on the next RS?"

Release Series 2.0 details leaked?

Likely, the team that comes up with the RS cars had an idea what they wanted and looked around to see what colors fit that theme.

There literally isn't stock of parts laying around in just in time manufacturing. The supplier makes it as needed and the OEM orders it as needed.

Based on the specs we get asked to meet sometimes and the fact the car company reps had to be loaded to ask for them I completely endorse this version of the scenario.

I think it'll still sell. There's always that small group that has their unique taste.

I am with you on this. Just because it does not appeal to the crowd here does not mean it won't be popular. We here represent about 10% of the twins sold in NA and as much as we may like to think it we are not the ultimate voice of the consumer.
I seem to remember a pile of hate poured on the RS1 when it first showed up here and it seems to have sold well.
Not a fan of the colour but then I would take it over a white one any day and still white sells well. So what do a few opinions mean in the whole scheme of things?

Actually I was one of those people, but seeing it in person changed my mind. What we see in pictures or in magazines differ quite a bit when we see them in person. Funny how I told myself I'd never rock a yellow car, and here I am driving one.

And see I was the total opposite. I saw pics and loved it and even considered trading. Then I saw one in real life and it just didn't grab me like I thought it would. Don't know exactly what it was but something in the yellow just didn't pop like the Lava does (to me).

Oh, I think it will sell.

People who get their cars painted in their favourite color often post pics on the internet.
After seeing a ridiculous amount of these photos over the years, I conclude that there is a fanclub for every ass ugly color imaginable.

And this one, being only mildly hideous, will probably appeal to a lot of people.
Which is fine. Good for them, good for Scion.

Using a feather is erotic.

Painting the car with a live chicken is kinky.

Some will be scooped up simply because they're a special limited exclusive thing. The owners become more special by association.

I really love the rs1 yellow.
