I've had mine since July 2013. I had my 240sx for ~7 years and I have had my Miata for 8 years or so.

My FR-S is currently at the dealership getting an engine replacement, so it's not doing very well in the 'gonna keep it forever' rankings.

At the very least, until I'm right side up on my loan!
I thought when I bought it that I might end up trading it in on something more exotic down the line... but I've totally fallen in love with my FR-S. I don't think my fiancee would let me get rid of it.

Me too. 12 months on Monday and I'm at 31k, car had 14,5 when I got it so has just over 45k now. So far so good, gonna change all fluids next week and put the winter tires back on as soon as I need them. Brakes are still good and believe it or not still running original rubber with ~35k on them, winters were on just about 10 last year.

We'll see, I tend to get tired of a car pretty quickly or wreck it but this one has some special qualities to it that I've been wanting for a long time. At this point I have a truck for household hauling and family outdoor activities like moving four mt bikes and an Outback for typical family duties so the car is mine for work and play. Kids graduate June '17 so if they leave our needs will change and then I can get a dedicated two seater (Stinger?) and an old CJ5 or FJ40. Like I said, we'll see...

I keep my cars for a long time usually 4-6 years. But the FRS is special to me. I honestly never joined into a forum just to speak of small piddly shit. I intend to keep it until it rusts out. Let's see how long rust proofing can last

One more FRS (or something similar depending on what is out there in 2019) and then into retirement car.

Forum wise, I am starting to get bored and will probably just slowly fade away over the next few months.

I see a trend here. Hmm.

The British TVR forum eventually morphed into Pistonheads and is still going strong.
Very much worth checking in once in a while.

It's been a good run with the FR-S after 3.5 years and 50,000 miles. What a community and one helluva car. Onto the next adventure...

I planned to keep the car longer but I longed for something with a bit more character and exclusivity. A monster engine helps too. It won't be long until I find myself a nice FRS/S2000/RX7 project to share the garage.

I don't have the money to keep swapping cars.

As a result I buy only keepers. The closest I got to a car I didn't really intend to keep was my previous car, my old 2004 Impreza...yet even that car if need be I could keep it forever and be more than satisfied. This car though...I have zero intentions of selling it. I've been driving fleet cars for now 7 years...despite the hundreds of different models not a single one of those cars has tempted me into seriously buying...musing sure, but amazingly it ended up being a car I don't get in fleet that I wanted to buy. Many of the cars I drive at work have more actual power, a good amount of the cars I drive are more expensive, and yet I specifically picked this.

Wont ever get rid of it. its a perfect chassis imo, so when this motor goes LS swap or something like that. It will go from being a daily driver to being a track/show car that I drive every once in a while on the roads. Like my R6 was but with a little better capability of being seen by texting drivers.

Hopefully forever. My dad passed a while ago. We traded in his '15 Tacoma to get my '16 FR-S. My family calls it a gift from my dad. That being the case, I would not want to get rid of it.
