Catted FP/OP but no Resonator Question

Hey guys, I'm just wondering, I considering picking up the nameless fp/op combo, however it's only catted and does not have a Resonator.

I know the resonator keeps drone/rasp away...however, since this is catted only.....would the cat also keep away the drone of rasp?

Or would i have to buy a catted resonator fp?

I tried to search this everyone, but cannot find a thread regarding this.

The cat in this FP/OP will help reduce noise and rasp.

Depending on your setup, you may want additional resonators in the system though. A catless header will want to add much more noise and rasp in the system, so that would be something to consider.

What is your setup currently?

I only have a Axel back exhaust, Greedy SP Elite.
Want a catted fp/op
Then i would get a catted header, the FT86speedfactory UEL one.
And a OFT stage 1 tune + a custom tune later for the header.

I don't want to go catless due to the smell of gas. My plan originally was to keep everything stock and only get a catless header and tune, but after reading that there is a gas smell, that is a big no no for me.

I have unresonated nameless 2.5" fpop combo with 3" perrin RESONATED and there were no issues with drone or rasp. Had a nice deep clean sound to it. Now i have jdl uel headers to go with it all and sounds deep and mean. Soooometimes there is a rasp note right at 2700 rpms but its not always there and actually now thinking about it havent heard it in a while so idk

If you end up with our catted UEL header and run that with the Nameless catted OP/FP, I wouldn't worry about rasp. You should have a nice deep tone and a decent amount of volume, but no rasp.

Ran a similar setup, Greddy AB, Motiv OP/catted FP & OFH UEL, was the only setup that I had with no rasp and a catless header. Sounded great!

One more question, since I see hks is a good price on ft86 also.

What would be more quiet? A dual resonated catless front pipe or a catted front pipe with no resonator?
