I am just trying to get ahead before my car gets here because I know you guys are already testing things out while I wait for mine to even be delivered. Us FR-S and BRZ drivers gotta stick together.

Rims could be better..spoiler could be better. Anyone adding a spoiler or are you guys staying stock? As far as what I want to do, I just want to give it some HP increase but not add much weight. Seems everyone is ok with the stock suspensions, so no need to change there. Hopefully try and grab an intake, and headers. Sucks waiting for them to develop all this.
the axleback drops 8 pounds, the axleback delete drops 22 pounds, the catted downpipe drops 5 or so, non-catted drops 7.

axleback makes like 3 whp, downpipe makes another few whp, but we'll really see what it does once it's tuned- the ECU is definitely pulling the power back down.

I used to think that way as well.
After having participated in nearly the full spectrum of car mod philosophies though, I can honestly say the best mods are whatever you want to do. Obviously it depends on your goal.

Want to become a better driver? HPDE.
Want to road race? Unless you are rich I wouldn't race this car.
Compete in autocross? Go do it.
Want to have a faster car in a straight line? More power, less weight, more traction.
Want to have a faster car on curved roads? HPDE, weight, suspension, power, response... btw, what are you doing driving that fast on public roads?
Want to have a fun car? Do whatever you think will be fun. For me that will probably start with a catback exhaust, because I like to hear the sound. Maybe that sounds corny and I'm just getting old.

I have a feeling the OP was asking about power and/or acceleration mods though.

Other than Drivers mod. I own a Subaru Legacy GT, and the 2010+ LGT has a 16mm rear swaybar that is identical as the wrx/sti/brz/frs setup. I do not own one of these cars yet so I am not sure how much oversteer you would want to induce with a bigger bar, but on Legacy GT.com guys are selling their OEM 16mm RSB for around $25-$50. Might be a really cheap ieda

I'm waiting for the aftermarket to catch up and offer different options for each modification. I don't want to just buy the first exhaust, sway bar, coilover set, etc. that comes out. Also, when there are more competing products, it should hopefully drive prices down a little Not to mention, no one's really cracked the ECU yet. I want to see what different engine mods gain with tuning, rather than looking at their dyno claims on a stock ECU.

Funny, I didn't think the title of this thread was "Should I buy mods, or drivers classes".

I'd say the best mod for the money right now is a tune from @Visconti. It gives you a bit more power and MPG (so it essentially pays for itself!). After that I'd say an exhaust. Intakes are a still a bit iffy... I'd wait for more options.

Oh, yea, and the driver. Makes no sense to get more power if you don't know how to handle the car to begin with.

There are a few parts already shipping out right now for the BRZ/FRS. Lowering springs, intakes, sway bars, exhausts it just depends on what you want to do. Hope this helps!
