Second Cat Heat Shield With Catless Front Pipe?

Hey guys, I just put did an Invidia q3000 exhaust and catless front pipe on my 2016, and was wondering if it required a heat shield as the original second cat had mounted. There is not a mounting point on the Invidia as on the stock cat, so I assume the shield is not re-used.

Does anyone have some insight on this?

The heat shield is for a cat. Cats get hot.

The OEM overpipe has it's own heatshield also, so I think it's a valid question.

But yeah, no heat shield is needed with aftermarket frontpipe.

That's fair. I initially thought this thread was going to be about fitting the OEM heatshield back on to try and beat an emissions test.

Thanks guys- I figured that was the answer since the catless front pipe opens up so much space in the tunnel, where the stock cat was pretty tight against the side of the tunnel and tranny

Nah, I won't have an emissions test for a couple of years- at that point I'll just swap the stock front pipe back on
