for $35 for a tiny piece, I would hope it functions perfectly.

Doesn't sound like that's the case.

It did function perfectly for two years....the fit when new was super precise, so ANY minor wear/expansion would be an issue. Not a deal breaker for me. I would totally buy again without a second thought.
