Crawford Plus 100 Turbo kit
Hey everyone!
Recently I've been thinking about FI for my FR-S. Now its my daily driver, and since I'm still in High School, I can't really spend a lot on a turbo kit or supercharger. Now I have come across the new Crawford 100+ turbo kit, which costs around $4,500 plus installation, which is realistic for me to save up for. Crawford has a reputation of being very reliable company with good quality products. It is supposed to work with a stock car and requires no intercooler, so basically "pug & play". The dyno graph looked nice and I think it would really give the FR-S that extra little push and "wow" factor that it needs. Has anyone had any experience with the kit irl? And are there any other alternatives for about the same price range (<5K with installation)? For anyone interested in the kit, heres a link: http://crawfordperformance.com/produ...100-turbo-kit/ I'm new on this forum so sorry if this is a redundant topic.

This Crawford Performance turbo kit is designed to run without an intercooler untill the owner makes a upgrade. Here's a video. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EU8iP9FCV8"]Turbo BRZ Review | +100 Crawford Turbo Kit - YouTube[/ame]

if you just want something that says crawford on it then go for it. personally if i had a $4500 budget for a turbo kit i would look at other kits, because i never hear much good about crawford.

Drive the car for a while. At 17 and just "legal to drive in NJ" you are jumping the gun by looking at another 100HP. It is not as simple as slapping a turbo on and ready to go as you seem to think it is. There are many other things you need to consider.

Yeah, and you really shouldn't go forced induction if you're not prepared to deal with catastrophic failure.

I still cannot believe people would put a turbo on their car without an intercooler. Best of luck kid, best of luck.

1. Don't get a turbo kit unless you plan on having a short life. If you were my kid, you would not have a twin to begin with.
2. Don't get a Crawford kit unless you plan on having a short engine life.

Also, he realistically won't be able to afford the inevitable rebuild when the engine goes with this kit

Don't know if you've read the forum reviews yet, but they've been known to embellish there power numbers by measuring power at the crank not at the wheels, when a majority of the others on the market in this price range measure at the wheels
