I like the look, but didn't want to open the tails on a new car.. I ended up getting mine tinted with film, looks black during the day, but all plenty of light gets through the film as well. will post a link to the video soon.

EDIT: here's the link to a quick video with the lights on. this was when I got them done.

Tinting headlights and taillights

Did my tails the other day. Meh. Looks ok. It's temporary til next summer.

Is just tint film - the good stuff of course.

Is definitely not as dark in person as it looks in my poorly lit garage.

It looks good, but I'd prefer a more glossy finish in a way where the lights don't blur.

Thank you, but I think the reason that the lights kind of blur is due to the brake lights being somewhat angled. Although I'm not sure if they blur with vht nightshade. Maybe somebody else can chime in for that.

It's because paint has a matte finish so it would blur behind it. I want to just paint the chrome part black so it gives the illusion of the whole light as tinted while keeping the light output clean.

Oh okay, I got what you mean. You want to paint the chrome more of a black chrome to get that look in the picture. I know there are a few people here locally who had painted the chrome black but it was a flat black and still looked nice though.

Yea problem with this and the reason why i havent done it yet is you have to cut open the lights. You cant simply bake it like you can the headlights.
