Dave, are you participating at the 14 Hours of Sebring tomorrow?

Nope We've had a few team members leave and have been working on dealing with that in a fair manner financially and have recently rebuilt the engine but haven't tested it enough to run it yet.. also need new tires.. and shocks.. so we are going to start racing in 16 again.

We ran our first event as a team yesterday. Came in 40th despite losing about an hour due to a failing fuel pump that had to be replaced and a total brake failure approaching T7 that sent me sailing past the Elan headed towards the barrier. Matt and Ron (Flat Out Motorsports) are two of my Chump partners.

BTW have any of you even been to NOLA?

I don't know how they'll setup for this shit show but I'm hoping security and shit won't be an issue. I will likely just leave as much as possible in the Suburban but that seriously limits how many coolers for beer I can carry along with the (at least) 5 people that will be using the burb as a drunk taxi. A buddy from Houston will have his Tundra as well so maybe I'll transfer spare parts and tools and crap to his vehicle. Use the trailers to tiedown canopies instead of tires to get stolen by Honda kids.

I've been there several times, but only for bike stuff. Normally it's a safe environment to leave your stuff overnight, but this won't be normal.

I had to steer left onto the grass at first to avoid cars that were making the turn then I turned hard right to start the spin and the car scrubbed off all the speed traveling sideways. Got back on the track and pumped up what I thought was some brake pressure but ended up sliding through 10 as well. No contact there either. Came back in and we bled the system with some fresh 660 while I baked inside(noon). Went back out and babied the brakes without further incident.

Should have video available sooner or later.

I have been to NOLA many times. The gate is manned all night I believe. As long as you leave after the shit show of Honda kids leave, you should be fine to leave everything at the track. I will definitely try to find you in the pits. I will be hanging with Austin Cabot running his TDI SportWagen and Dysen Pham in his S2000 both running in Global Time Attack. If you want to see the fast way around NOLA, look for Dysen's TTB lap record video.
