Am I the only one that thinks this thing looks really really fishy.... Come visit out lab... with no location, or phone number, or company name.... I hope no one got their car stolen from this.

The name of our company is Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. and we are located at 400 S. Etiwanda Avenue, Ontario, CA 91761. The phone number is 909-390-1100 and you can ask for me, Lin Farmer, Vice President if you want to discuss. We have a website at www.automotivetesting.com. We are an approved CARB and EPA test laboratory and conduct dozens of these sorts of programs every year in addition to testing for most of the major automotive manufacturers. I'll be glad to discuss your particular concerns. This is not an uncommon process in the industry but often the manufacturer or their distributor is the one that finds the test vehicle. As noted above Perrin is out of state and asked us to do this for them.

No modifications that impact emissions testing, ie: engine, exhaust in front of the cats, tires. Suspension and styling mods are OK as long as the vehicle isn't lowered to the point that we can't easily get it onto our dyno.

While certainly a legitimate offer, two weeks of downtime and up to 250 miles of driving is NOT a fair exchange for a ~$250 dollar intake. Providing a loaner vehicle for the period the car is borrowed would make this a much easier find, and is a minimal cost to Perrin in the long run. It may be worth running that by them.

Good luck with your search.

CSG Mike, we certainly would entertain offering either a rental or a cash incentive to an interested and qualifying owner. I was really trying to judge the level of interest in participating in a project before making any firm commitments. We had been trying to rent an FR-S thru Toyota Rent-a-Car since it was shown on several dealer websites but all the ones we called said they no longer had an FR-S in the rental fleet. May have collected too many tickets or something.

Hey guys,
Lin works for a company that is helping us get some items CARB approved and she is reaching out to find someone that may be close by their lab. We are nearing the final stages of the whole process and now were are in need of a car to barrow. Yes you would recieve a free intake for helping us out. There may be other ways for us to compensate you as well, just depends on the situation. Please contact Lin or I if you are interested in this.

I just purchased a Perrin CAI BigMAF, would it retroactively be CARB approved if the current testing passes?

Currently we are working on the normal intake because it can be installed without an ECU re-tune or recalibration. The BigMAF intake requires an ECU recalibration in order to work, so at this point we are not pursuing testing that one.

Once it is approved, we are able to retroactively provide customers with the EO number sticker. This is because the intake we are testing, hasn't changed since we first made them in 2012-ish.
