I love it! The only problem I have had was one of the push pins breaking, but thats all. I think it makes the back look very clean!

I put stereo electronics underneath. So far, no problems with overheating, and they don't take up trunk space.

It does cut weight. Mine dropped 19.375lbs. A cross brace would add weight so they leave that up to you to buy separately.

Yep. More apt to happen in the cold. I would have paid a few more dollars for the kit to include black annodized Aluminum fasteners instead. Wouldn't have added more than a few ounces and would have made the kit perfect.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I really like it. Couldn't stand having backseats, and it looks really clean.

Could you leave the OEM seat bottom cushions in place, and still use the rest of the kit? The OEM bottom cushions don't weigh much (maybe about the same as the replacement pieces?), and would allow you to put something behind the seats that weighs more than the plastic replacement parts could support. Plus, you could kneel on the OEM cushions when getting back there to clean the rear window. It sounds like the plastic replacement pieces won't support the weight of a person kneeling on them. It also sounds like most of the weight savings comes from the removal of the seat back, and the rest of the hardware - seat belts, brackets, etc..

Just wonderin'...

I don't think you can. IIRC, you remove the metal brackets that would hold the seat plus there's a cross piece (that the bottom flaps fasten to) that gets bolted in the seat bracket locations. If you don't use that piece, the panel that separates the trunk/cabin wouldn't have anything to rest on.

With enough tinkering you might be able to rig something up but probably not worth it for the price of the kit to only use 1 piece.

Thanks so much. I just started ripping the interior out and replacing things and this how to could not have been more helpful. I have about zero wrench turning experience and had no problem knocking this project out. If I hadn't taken so many pictures it would have taken me the 2 hours or so you said. Thanks again!!!

Pathetic I know, but I'm having trouble with the first step. Can't undo those 10mm bolts. I turn it hard and the socket just slips out of place. I feel like I need those tools where you hammer one side and that force makes the socket turn lol can't remember what they're called. Any suggestions what to do?

Please update OP regarding seat belt assembly that the belt has to be held by clip or something prior to removing the assembly otherwise, seat belt will roll up extra few inches then you will end up with locked retractor.

Also, I have an idea about supporting the bottom panels by using "Instapak quick". It will not support super heavy weight, but it seems good enough to support wheels and tires.

Are the bolts hex heads or external Torx?

You need a better quality impact type socket head, and a breaker bar.
