Don't waste your time reporting it, it'll just make you angrier and do no good. I already tried this with Scion of America and another dealer. Its up to the individual dealer to both interpret and enforce pure pricing. Corporate won't do anything about it.

Spend your time finding a better dealer, they're out there.

Silly thing is, if they just dropped their price back down to MSRP, at this point I'd pay for it. They have no clue that they would gain a more loyal customer doing that (and I've been telling them that!) lol

Whatever. I'm done. I hope they get theirs.
By July, these cars will be everywhere...don't lose hope so quickly

there were no markups on the sticker, just saying i saw it. i shot them an email requesting a quote, i'd be amazed if they did something underhanded like add the markup on the doc and not display on the sticker. ill let you know what i find out.

You have to ask yourself. If dealers think they can get away with these huge markups, where else are they trying to screw you? I would much rather give my money to a dealer that is selling at MSRP and have my car serviced and maintained with them.

This. Wait for the initial hype to die down. It's not like these are limited run or if you don't get one now, you'll never get one. Supply will exceed demand once initial orders are fulfilled and dealers that cling to these markups will still have those cars sitting on their lots well into next year.

I just found out a dealer 10 miles from mine has a Blue 6MT and has it at $27,930. Needless to say, I have placed two orders today because people would rather do business with someone honest at MSRP than douche with a mark-up.

If you can't find one immediately in your area, you could always buy one over the phone at another dealer offering MSRP and have it trucked to your location. Might cost you $1500, but that's better than $5k in B.S. mark-ups. Hopefully you won't have to resort to it, though.

Clevername, Scion is putting in a case report against them to check it out, not necessarily because of the 5,000 dollar price increase, but more due to the fact that the price they advertised on their website is not what they have on the dealer lot. So there you go. They didn't even update their website, and that seems to be against the rules.

I've also contacted several other dealers in the southeast florida region and they all have some sort of increase... either a simple market value increase, or a 1-4000 dollar "dealer fee".

Quite simply, I do not think I will be getting an FRS. Which is unfortunate because I like the car a lot, I'm just not going to line the stealership's pockets with my cash.
Yep pretty much just confirmed what you're saying with coggin toyota avenues. quote me ~35k otd for a manual with just a few options...right...didnt break out numbers but its "bend me over the table" at that price.

SE Toyota blows. I haven't found a single one within a 150 mile radius of my home that isn't marked up.

If you research them on cars.com, or other web sites you'll get the MSRP price only to come into the dealership to find they've installed 1500 dollars' worth of crap and slapped on 4-5k of ADM.

Don't let the dealers down there get you down. Not everyone is like that and I completely understand not wanting to throw away money just for dealership profit. My processing fee is $499.99.
Scion won't do anything, as the guy below your post said. Fines? Inventory loss? Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

Have you heard of one single incident of this occurring?

As a matter of fact, Yes. One of my local competitors was caught marking up Scions, without proper advertisement, and although you do not lose your complete inventory. Your allocation is reduced, and the owner of your store is contacted about the violation, therefore, you can not sell as many Scions. It's not really a harsh penalty. But it happens.

So let the FL dealers sit on them for a bit. Once they all have 5-10 sitting on the lot with markups, the dealers will start caving and letting them go for MSRP.

Or do what my best friend did with his G37 coupe when it first came out...go to another state without markups and buy it there if you can't wait.

I'm gonna get one from David Maus Toyota Scion over near Orlando. They quoted me 26,012 for a red frs They were also thinking about doing the market value tax but decided against it since it's just not the right thing to do, and since then theyve been selling them like crazy.

Gonna mail them a check tomorrow to hold it for me, it comes in next tuesday! Can't wait
