Question Questions about modding the engine

Sooooo still a little bit of a noob when it comes to internals and stuff. I love this car. It will be fully paid off in a few months and I cant wait to put a turbo in that bad boy. I dont have any performance mods in it yet but i have considered ordering the perrin cold air intake, the berk dual tip muffler delete kit and turbo kit. Should i put them all on together and get it tuned when i get them or does it really matter if i put them on individually. Also its an auto so what is a decent amount of power i should shoot for without completely frying the transmission. Any feedback is appreciated

I think you ought to install a bunch of stuff with no research and just see what happens. You could actually read up on what you're trying to do in the sub-forums, but what would be the fun in that? Living on the edge is much more exciting.

Oh, my ...... the gang is tough today ......

@mikev77, from what I understand, you might be better off to open up the exhaust (header etc.) and intake (CAI/drop in) then see how you like that.

That may be the power gain you'r looking for.

Also, a tune may be in order.

I'd say go step by step. Focus on NA mods (exhaust, headers, front pipe) first which is relatively safe. While you do your NA mods, research on FI mods. If you are new to the game, just don't jump into it.

Out of curiosity, why did you decide to go the turbocharger route?
I believe it has the greatest loss of power in the tropical climate in Hawaii and has more heat dissipation issues than a comparable supercharger.

If it is just a large bump power you want, you can get up to 300 wheel horsepower with a supercharger on your car and maintain the linear power curve alongside good throttle response.

Call it tough love. This guy needs to wake up and smell the burning oil. Asking "how to turbo?" on this forum without doing any research at all is an open invitation for ridicule. Even the answers where people are trying to help are not going to help this guy as long as he's asking people to spoon feed him answers.

If you're new, you ask where to start. He didn't ask where to start. He asked how to finish. You don't approach a technical problem that way and expect to get any meaningful answers.

"Hey everybody, I want to do brain surgery on my friend. I have a good X-acto set and a Dremel. Where should I cut?"

Sure, it's not brain surgery, but it might was well be if he's approaching the problem backward.

Stop complaining and just tell the guy to stick with a good exhaust set up, some light weight pulleys and some good tires

Injectors and fuel pump
Forced induction kit (cough sprintex 335...)

Especially since this isn't even his first rodeo!
