All of that power is within reach of superchargers. If you like having the surge of torque, get a turbo. If you l ike having a perfectly consistently responsive throttle, get a supercharger.

New to this forum but, why not go with heat extractors for the hood and call it a day. Cheapest route especially compared to a meth/H2O kits. GM is running them on the Stingray's and Z06's to keep under-hood engine temps down. Tracking a car and pushing it hard you expect the engine to warmer than normal. You prepare for that and try to keep the engine temps as cool as possible for consistency, detrimental things etc. I don't own a BRZ/FRS yet (on the fence which is why i stalk the forum) to know exactly how hot and what type of temps they are experiencing but venting would be my first step or even hood risers if you done want to tear up your OEM hood or buy an aftermarket on.

As someone said earlier in the thread decide on what exactly what your plans are with the car first and decide from there which FI direction (or stay NA) will best suit your needs and what you are looking for.

That's not going to prevent or help with radiant heat from adding a lot of exhaust piping under the engine bay. We're not talking about coolant or engine temps, but the effect of having a red-hot turbo manifold next to other plastic/rubber items in the engine bay. It's not pretty when things start melting.

Understand what you are getting at now. No heat shields available aftermarket? A blanket and wrap should absorb some of the heat, at least enough to prevent melting of fan shrouds etc.

Our first instance of melting occurred next to a ceramic coated/wrapped manifold.

FYI all of the vortech blowers have the same bolt pattern and can be upgraded... you can make some serious power with their stuff.
