When I bring up this car to my friends they literally have NO idea what I am talking about, therefore I only speak to my guys about the newly released vehicles.

I plan to buy within a year or two, after I pay off my Scion tC. I am just waiting for the best timing on my financial schedule to purchase the FR-S. What can I say - I like to shop and pay off other bills (college) before I just get stuck in a loan once more.

Alright, so all your girls.....do you own one yet? Plan to? Can you drive stick? lol...and guys - what do you think about females owning/driving one of these cars? Too much horsepower? HA- not enough for me...but that's a whole other topic. Let's just say my left leg has more muscle then the other.

I want the manual whiteout FR-S. At first I preferredthe Raven but I think white is just more classy. Plus - it will match my other vehicle. I don't really plan to take it on the track or anything, just drive to work, events, other places and have fun living my life (while looking good in my new FR-S).

Wisdom from and old man:
-Most women don't give a shit about cars, especially enough to go on the internet to talk about all the things they like to install on them.
-There are no women on the internet.
-Getting a fancy car won't attract women. It'll attract men. Modifying it extensively will attract more men. I've never seen a woman with a cell phone taking photos of my ARB/OME/Kay-Mar modified Land Cruiser, or approaching me to talk about the mods and sourcing the parts.
-Women may be interested in your car because it is expensive. Don't confuse being interested in its cost as being actually interested in the car itself.
-Women may work on cars, take some interest in your vehicular hobbies--but to no crazy extent that men do. And if given the opportunity they probably wouldn't want to spend the weekend dropping the motor on your car/truck/motorbike.
-You tell your wife she can have any car she wants she'll either go for the most expensive one, or the one she thinks is "cute" ...or both.

You forgot strippers and other gold diggers. And why they like expensive cars. More so, they're interested in the guy that has that kind of money because they want to see what they can get out of them and if they get nothing they make something up to sue you.

It's so second nature that you won't care that you're in traffic. Not once ever did I ever regret having a manual no matter how much traffic I was stuck in. And I was stuck in 4 hours of traffic on the Florida Turnpike once. <3 Manuals.

all my wife cares about is that the car is cute

which it is

so.. .that's pretty much the end of that

we have a local car club called "sweety girl racing", for girls/women who like cars. They do alright.

Very insightful, TuxedoCartman, I've gotta agree that some of the posts make it a little uncomfortable to be here and can't help but laugh at what my hubby has observed must be "a lot of Lonely Drivers" out there (a la Initial D)!

We're all here 'cuz we love the car.

Ok first off, all you guys making comments about women wanting "cute" cars and have NO interest in a modified vehicle......my right leg is shaking very extensively during the time I read your posts - that is soooooooooooo not true! LOL - things like this are funny to me. Ok you may be like 80% right...lol...but there ARE women out there who do appreciate a good build, and WILL stand side by side with a boyfriend or guyfriend to help drop an engine in over the weekend. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Just sayin' because I am a 24-year old blonde who doesn't mind getting dirty and working on a car. I actually went to school to BECOME a mechanic but realized I wanted to better utilize my creative skills. People are shocked when I tell them I use to go to school for that. Their faces are priceless. Anyway, now I am a graphic designer/marketing manager (for a aftermarket performance auto parts company) and design in car magazines that I know you all pick up and read....I also own my own dirt bike and use to ride quads and plan to buy another one soon. I am not going to go and rant on about myself but I'm just letting you know that you can be a beautiful woman and appreciate racing, cars, engines, changing your own oil, drifting, getting muddy, lifted trucks, superchargers, turbos, a nice paint job....etc. Sorry you all just don't know someone who fits this category Or maybe you do..haha.

As for the ladies who have already put the down payment on the FR-S or the ones who are already driving theirs - AWESOME! You guys rock and I am glad to see some female activity on here. You're basically my motivation to get the ball rolling and try even harder to pay off my bills to get my FR-S. I'm jealous of all of you lol. I hope everything goes well and your get mad respect for becoming a part of the community

Guys, I know it's pretty easy to just assume most girls aren't auto friendly but next time you see a sexy woman at a car event or whatever, just remember, you never know her hobbies, capabilities, interests (when it comes to cars)...unless you take the time to get to know her. She could know more then you, and rotate a tire better then you. Heck - I've meet a few men who don't even know how to change their oil....it is what it is.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Either way, we all love and appreciate the same car, so rock on!

+1 on that. I agree, there are girls out there who are just as interested in cars as any guy. I remember in high school how amazed I was when I actually met someone like that. I was talking to my friends about the D1 event I went to over the weekend at my locker. The girl next to me overheard the conversation and just started beaming. She joined in on the conversation. She was talking about the Silvias, Truenos, etc... She even had plans on getting an S14 and doing the whole S15 conversion thing. That was pretty awesome if you ask me.

Here's one! First, I'd like smack about 90% of the men who responded before me. I've been interested in the car for 2+ years and put down a deposit in January. My Hot Lava MT should be here by now, except an AT showed up in its place. Already sold my '02 Celica.

I'm not into racing or working on cars. I can check/add oil and change a tire if needed (in heels!), but that's about it. I just like for my commute to be as fun as possible. I'm able to rattle off a bunch of stats, only from reading this site, but I don't know most of it means.

Only since this is the ladies' thread, I'll mention that I'd like to get nail polish to match the car. Guys, if you don't like it, you can switch back to ANY OTHER THREAD.

I can honestly say I've probably only met one girl who was really into cars. And by really I mean "into them as much as my male car geek friends". She autocrossed an Evo 8 with her father on the national level, and when she would talk about things like suspension setup and driving line, my jaw would be on the floor. She was very physically attractive and probably had a normal life outside cars, but a passion for them like anyone I'd seen. And ironically, she had a boyfriend who was not into cars at all... that bastard.

Cars aren't for everyone. It may seem even less so for women, but have you ever stopped to think about how many men don't know much about cars, either? I don't think gender has much to do with it...

I'm hoping to turn my g/f into a car person. She drives a manual Impreza and says she would never buy an A/T because they're "lame". She loves my Audi S4 and can't wait for me to get my BRZ! I asked if she'd want to come to an auto-x event and co-drive with me and she was all about it, so I think I might have me a keeper! Whether I can get her to hang out in the garage and turn a wrench remains to be seen, but I think my odds are good

So don't rule out the ladies, gentlemen!

Some of the responses in this thread are horrible. You guys just don't know what you're talking about. My GF is the project director for an enthusiast themed non profit. She drives a six speed Mini Cooper. She's been slowly getting into cars since starting her job a few years ago. She's not at the level I am at, but she knows what she likes. She wants to get some new wheels for her mini soon so they fit the car better. She also appreciates a good build. She appreciates a unique mod on a unique car. Her non profit also sponsors an all girl team as well.

On top of that I saw an all girl drift team at a car show yesterday. They all had heavily modified S13s. One even had a nicely done Silvia front end conversion.

Stop assuming all girls/women only want "cute" cars. I've seen plenty of women out here driving porche 911s, Camens, BMW M3s, and isaw one Asian girl rocking a SICK 240 on the highway a few weeks ago. It had an SR20 swap and was just buitifully built.

It's 2012, not 1920. Stop assuming all women are stepford wives.
