ECUTEK questions

Hey everyone, I am ready to get some type of tuning software from what I've seen I'm leaning towards ECUtek. However I have some questions.

First I will have a borla UEL hks dual res front and invidia N1 with k&n drop in.

I want to go e85 and possibly flex fuel in the future. My question is what's the easiest route?

Buy ecutek license and go to a tuner?
Buy cable and license, then can I do it myself (never done before, always used tuner)
What kind of prices am I looking out for both scenarios?
Also I want to be able to change from e85 quickly, because there are not a ton a stations around me that carry it.

Thanks for any help

Buy Ecutek license and I recommend cable and go to a tuner. Cable gives you the power to data log whenever you want. If you don't care about dat logging or later tuning yourself, you can just get license and go to a tuner, but any minor change you want on the tune you will need to go to the tuner, or get a loaner cable from someone local.

Tuning is not something you just start doing one day. It takes a lot o time and patience to get a good tune, trial and error, need to understand basic concepts on cars and a few little details unique to the platform. If you are willing to learn, go ahead and do it. It's rewarding. But please be aware it's very time consuming and sometimes frustrating. Also a flex fuel tune adds another layer of complexity above what I just said.

Also I want to be able to change from e85 quickly, because there are not a ton a stations around me that carry it.

Get a flex fuel kit and tune and never mind what type of gas you put, the ECU will adjust to it all.

Thanks for any help

licience aprox $300 (always required)
flash and go tune from a tuner like moto east or deliceous tuning aprox $200-$300
if you can get to tuner no cable required
if not add cable cost aprox 350

you could get the tuner to do a 4 map switchable tune for say 91 petrol, 93 petrol, E20-,E50 (transition e85), E50-E90 (full E85) not as good as flex fuel tune\kit but cheaper.

flex fuel kit add about $600 they usualy throw in a tune for about $100 extra.

tuners also thow in racerom features like launch and flat foot shift and map switching for free with any tunes.

if you go diy you have to buy racerom pack extra $300.
