Questions for ECUTek Tuners

So I've got some questions for ECUTek tuners there...

Got a Scion FR-S '13 N/A. For now my mods are a drop-in, Nameless OP/FP combo and axle back.

I've bought my ECUTek from Perrin run 1 one summer and It was not running perfecly... So now I'm back on a stock rom (ZA1JB01C-enc) and well these are my questions.

I want to keep the stock tune+adding the racerom feature and I'm wondering if I can run a cat-less headers safely.

Questions:

How the 2nd O2 sensor affect the air/fuel mixture on this ECU? Does it only check the cat or it does interfere on the air/fuel mixture?

With the “normal” FT-86 license, If I want to activate the racerom feature (like launch controller and flat-foot shifting) I activate them on “Mode 1” since I don’t have map switching right?

Does the racerom feature are already correctly ajusted to be simply turn On or I do have to correct the parameter in these fonctions to work correcly?(Like launch controller and flat-foot shifting)

No BS please.

Thanks for your help.

Disclaimer, I'm not a pro tuner by any means, I like to play around with tuning though.

You can safely (but not ideally) run a catless header without tuning for it and the sensor will detect a cat fault and throw a code. You can disable the associated codes however. You'll get more power if you are tuned for the catless header though.

I believe the rear O2 affects ECU LTFTs if the sensor is removed entirely. Page 50 of the EcuTek manual says it's important to disable ECU LTFTs if re-purposing the rear O2 sensor input whether for FF or a wideband.

As far as enabling RaceROM and the settings I believe you enable them on Mode 1, and the defaults may work but I'd check them to make sure they are what you want them to be.

Here's something you could try:
Use a stock ROM and enable the RaceRom features on mode 1.
Disable the Cat efficiency DTC codes
Save that and flash.

You could then create a 2nd ROM open the OFT OTS UEL/EL maps and copy the tables across. The main ones you'd want are the AVCS, timing, fuel and MAF to gain the additional performance that's possible.

Are you getting an open tune and modifying it? Or, was that tune was setup by a master tuner/or user with full RaceRom access?

As long as the RR features are setup correctly on the tune you are given, you can use them.

I believe the non RR version of the user software does not allow you to setup the RR features at all if you are starting a tune from scratch. I also believe the RR features setup by others (master tuner giving you an open tune) will not be able to be modified by you unless you buy the full RR access version.

This is what I think, because I've never used the non-RR full access version.

I'm staring from a stock Rom with RaceRom feature enable on it. You can acces partially the RaceRoms feature. Launch controller, Flat foot, AutoBlip are all available. But you don't have map switching, speed density and customs maps.

I have acces to Launch Controller, Flat foot and AutoBlip data and I can modify them. I'm just wondering if the default data is already right.

I only want the Launch controller and flat foot to be activated!

Ahh! Got it now!

The LC data is right from the get go.

The FFS, needs so tweaking to get it right.

I have no idea about FFS as I don't like it. I know that the autoblip can be improved from the base settings, you pretty much just double the pedal % from my experience.

Launch control is fairly easy to understand and you just set it up how you want. If you have any specific questions about any table then just shove it on here

Thanks a lot for your time

I'll try to understand correcly the FFS data before playing with that, I love that little feature !

Sometime I put back my Perrin tune just to play with it
@Kodename47 yeah don't look to hard... I've already raised the minimal launch to 4500RPM since 4000RPM launch already cost me 2 axles haha :P

Thanks a lot for your help guys
