Most importantly, have fun! Watch and learn!
Very excited haha, I'll be coming with a few s2000 buddies as well!

I feel like I've met you before, recognizing your yellow S.

Perhaps at the PITL Powerade Autocross event?

Interesting that they change it up for the advanced group - never seen that before.

I'm in intermediate so I'm as happy as I can be!

Likely, I've been a fairly regular attendee at PITL this year. I'm going to be series registered next year now that I've had seat time and new tires on the car. Before the tires, I was a bottom feeder and couldn't understand why. Turns out the tires were shit and cracked!

Now I'm happy as a pig in mud and am learning the car at an exponential rate. Track days will add to that!

Swing on by and say hi!

Are your buddies on S2ki.com? I'm LEMONJUS (formerly YEESH) on that forum.

EDIT: Wait, were you the guy who hit the stop box at Powerade?

If the kink is used or not will likely depend entirely on what OTA is running for layout for the shootout.

We might be able to switch it up in the afternoon, but that will mean sweeping that whole area of the track before the event starts. If no one has been running without the kink on the straight for a while there gets to be a pile of crap all over the track in that area, all pushed over from cars entering the kink.

Don't run over anything this week and stay safe lol.

Weather might be a tad chilly in the morning.

Stupid question but is it slower or faster with 2 or 1 kink?

I would think 1 kink is faster but the 2nd kink does cut the cornering distance down.

It's definitely faster with 1 kink, probably about 4 seconds for most people.

Just to be clear, we're talking about the kink on the back straight. The kink at turn 1 is permanently in place, CTMP decided that it's unsafe to run turn 1 without it's kink after they built it. I got to drive it once with no kinks, turn 1 is fun but there's zero safety margin and entry speeds are a bunch faster.

I didn't know turn 1 kink is now permanent staple - I've never run without it but I keep seeing videos without it. I agree with the safety concern as there is pretty much zero run off if you take out the kink on 1.

The kink on the back end (turns 14 through 16) is ridiculously good fun - I hope we keep it. I can really tear that one up and gain on people like there's no tomorrow because of it. My instructor during the Ian Law school says that I have the back end down quite well and that's where I usually gain or lose people. I love that sector and it shows.

Tomorrow! Still a couple spots open, and time to sign up still, if you're around!

Well good sir, I am very happy to say that the event today was right up there with some of the best events I've ever been part of (participating or working)!

I am very happy at the concerns on safety, timing and execution of the whole shebang. Very well done! I'm definitely signing up for SPDA for sure!

I wanted to come and say hi but I couldn't figure out where you were!

Also noticed a blast from the past with Sprongl running that Kia - is he no longer running the Canadian National Rally Championship or was that another Sprongl?

Glad you had a good time, that's the best kind of feedback!

I was running around like crazy, and only went out for one lapping session. I was at registration in the morning, taking pictures during the 2nd and 3rd sessions, then clerking (deciding how many cars to send and on what interval) for the OTA sessions in the afternoon.

I saw your car, but didn't see who got out of it to say hi.

Video is up!

First time running 1 kink only - was not comfortable with gunning it all out on the return stretch.

I think I killed my rear left pad on this track day. Time to slap on some race pads!
