Yeah, you really need to unless you consume absurd amounts of meat, but even then it's beneficial pre/post workout to get the nutrients to your muscles quickly.

My personal favorite is Dymatize nutrition iso 100, my girlfriend loves Cellucor, which is also fantastic. But if you're looking for something cheaper you can always just get a basic whey protein powder, isolates are purer and absorb more rapidly but normal whey is fine. Also, casein is beneficial to consume before bed to prevent catabolism while sleeping.

I use the following:

Men's multivitamin sport (GNC)
Pre workout (cellular c4)
Creatine
Whey isolate protein powder (dymatize iso 100)

I would take casein at night by my stomach does't let me lol

Branched chain amino acids are good to take too but most quality protein powders will have them included.

Yeah, mass gainers makes it easy to bulk. Make it a lot easier to consume gorilla portion amounts of calories lol. I'd take them but again my stomach sucks, had to train my body to eat insane amounts of food, it's even harder when it has to be clean food which tends to be lower in calories.

I hike and I play soccer. And I tear my ACLs.

Recovering from my 2nd knee surgery right now, 4 weeks out and kinda sorta walking again.

I have trouble getting motivated to run or go to the gym without a specific goal in mind, so soccer is my excuse. Need to be more careful though.

Also, I try not to eat crap food or drink soda unless I'm hungover.

I beg to differ in terms of consuming protein supplements. A normal diet will fill the body with plenty of protein so any sort of shake is pointless. Unless they are trying to bulk or are a serious athlete. My "shake" is nothing more than a can of tuna as it contains all of the essential amino acids I would need. Though a shake is a good alternative if your diet is poor.

C4 is fantastic stuff. I'd suggest Concrete for the creatine, you have any preference?

Really any micronized monohydrate , the cleaner the better. I usually use ANSI as I have found it to be the best in regards to bang for your buck.

And yeah I love c4 I used to use jack3d before the formula change, then switched to c4

You're correct I was assuming working out with muscle gain in mind.

Jack3d was, indeed, good stuff. I used N.O. Xplode for a while, too. Very briefly 1MR, but that spiked my heart rate to over 200, and I'm resistant to stimulants... Very quickly dropped using that one.

Mon - 40 mins weights at the gym, 20 mins cardio
Tue - Rock climbing gym 2 hours
Wed - Lap swim 1 mile
Thurs - 40 mins weights, 20 mins cardio
Fri - jogging at the track 2-3 miles
