Kinda what I'm thinking too. Seems to me there are two types of cars in PWC TCA--the "factory" cars (Kia, Honda), and all the rest (including the FR-S, BMW Z4, Mazda RX-8). It's too wide a range of car types in one class. I guess in theory the organizers would try to bring everyone down to the level of the slowest car to make them all equal, but in fact the BOP does seem to favor the factory cars.

Maybe a better series to follow the FR-S is the SCCA where they break out more classes. Michelle Abatte posted a great SCCA race video on this site (racing a Mustang, of all things). Unfortunately there are so many races that none get coverage that I've been able to find.

There is not much coverage of amateur and semi-pro racing.

If you wonder why Kia and Honda maybe getting a little extra love as far as BOP then I think that you have to look no further than the manufacturer points championships for each class. The manufacturers have to sign up to go for championship points. Look for Toyota, TRD or Scion. Nowhere to be found. It stands to reason that a series will take care of the manufacturers that support the series. It is good business. Toyota needs to get off their a$$es and get involved.

From what I understand, they took away the header and the air intake. They made him go back to stock intake and stock exhaust manifold.

Interdasting... The rules for TCA exhaust systems (section 2.7.5.1) are:
Exhaust system is unrestricted, with the following exceptions:
− Stock exhaust manifold must be used.
− System must exit at the stock location.
− Vehicles must produce of a reading of 110 dBA or less on a Sound Test. See Article 2.10.1 for Sound Test procedures.

Maybe he was getting away with something by using a custom header?

I adore Laguna Seca. I've never raced it for real as I'm on the other side of the planet, but it has always been my favourite track in racing games from Gran Turismo 3 to Forza 6.

The rules have always read stock header but open rules on the rest of the exhaust. No one has been getting great gains on the intake but maybe he found something or maybe they put an intake restrictor on him. Delicious would know because they do his tunes.

I have ran Laguna Seca and there's nothing in the world like your 1st turn down the "Corkscrew"!

I completely forgot about these races and am trying to catch up. G'dammit did they ever slow Tony's car down. It's crazy slow now.

I also noticed, he isn't running those 9" wide Enkie RPF1's anymore.
