Yeh but realistically it won't cost that much. Like fully tunnable suspension isnt 20000, exhaust isn't 15000, chassis bracing isn't 20000, fully worked engine isn't 100000 and so on. Upgrades in the game (apart from the ecu) are freakishly over priced. A total build like that would be expensive yes, but nowhere nearly to the 500k mark. And the standard car is freaking awesome to begin with

This isn't a Supra successor, its an AE86 successor.

370z's are nice though bro, I'd go check one of those out.

First time only take million yrs to load up. After you went to the area once, it load a lot faster.

If u do the install originally that takes the hour to do, everything loads fast as later. And it's sais it's 8gb install.. Bullshit, ac is a 4 gb install and it took 15 min at best.. I reckon GT5 is more like 12gb if not more install on the hdd

I wouldn't want the the IS350's V6 in this car to mess up the F/R balance. I would rather the 2.5l turbocharged boxer from the WRX with Toyota's D/I system implemented.

One example I can think of is the RX7 vs. RX8. The RX7 is arguably faster in most situations, if not all, so I'm not sure why Mazda brought out the RX8 in the first place, it was supposed to be the succesor to the RX7 and they couldn't even make it faster with more techonoly and research.

It would be like Ferrari bringing out the 458 and it ends up being slower than the previous 430.... Just doesn't make sense.

Toyota did it!

Corolla XRS 05 with the 2zz-ge (1.8L) was more powerfull then the new one with the 2.4L from the camry.

WHY?
Easier to drive, period. PPL was not buying the XRS because it was not a userfriendly engine.

---

Now i read every post of this topic, pretty funny i have to say.
I think IMOP that subaru plant is a wrong choice.
1.6L is outdated,
1.8L could be good
2L engine is perfect, I do agree, knowing that Toyota was able to get 170hp out of a 1.6L (Black top VVT-i 4age) was amazing.
Knowing that Toyota got 180hp out of a 1.8L engine (2zz-ge) and Lotus get it up to 190hp NA that nice.

I just imagine that they could get 220hp out of a 2L NA engine.

Now, knowing that XRS in 2005 weight 1200kg 4 Door sedan, i can expect a 2door small car to weight under 1100kg without any difficulty.

So : 220hp NA high rev Toyota/Yamaha engine in +/- 1100kg? I buy 2 of them!

305hp turbocharged boxter in ft-86: i wait 2 year if not 3 to be sure engine dont blow to much, the 2.5L found in STI 08+ sux! (I own one, i know what im talking about!)

Well Bern, the displacement isn't about being outdated it's whether it slows the car down too much. A too small of displacement would make it underpowered whereas a too large of displacement would be bad for FE, weight, handling, aka peripheral factors. The size of the engine is a big factor in how large the engine bay needs to be and how sturdy the components must be designed which also affects the weight.

And one of the toyota execs has already stated they could get greedy and produce 230PS or about 228 BHP. This is Toyota's responsible sportys car. Not like the CR-Zzz but not like the Honda S2000 either.

The point I make is since it's going to be packed with technology it doesn't have to be big. And since the turbo model is the mid-upper range the base doesn't need to be powerful either. The base engine needs to be cheap and reliable. The turbo engine is where the fun is at.

Not exec, engineer. The lead engineer for the FT-86 project to be precise.
