people are immature and instead of enjoying what they like that immaturity forces them to judge others. Aka they are still really little children that have not grown up and never will.

I still don't get what your exactly getting at. Are you saying people with lots of money to spend on a car are not enthusiasts? I might be wrong on this one, but I always thought F1 and endurance racing was leaning more towards "old money".

Are you saying drifting competition in the future will be done without drivers but more along the lines of automated vehicles?
Exactly...people just buy the cars for the badge (name)
You don't see them buying GTR's cause it's a Nissan. They want the brand that costs the most. Lambo, Bugatti, Ferarri

Some yes. Not all. Those cars are still the performance kings and many buy them for that performance. The same as all twins are not owned by college students that are going to mod them so far that they no longer can be called a twin.

99.99999% of us that bought the AT bought it for whatever reasons we bought it, and are glad it was available, and are happy with it. 90% of us that bought it in AT would have purchased it in MT if that was all that was available. 0% of the persons that purchased an AT believe it should only have been available in AT and no one should have a choice in the matter.

95% that bought it with MT are glad it was standard, but don't care that the AT was an extra cost option. These discussions continue because 5% of MT purchasers think no one should have a choice except the one they deem "correct", believe AT should be banned from anything that has "sport(s/y/ish)" associated with it, because that's just the way it should be.

In the end, there are lots of things in the 86 that I don't need, but I'm OK they were available or standard. I didn't need power windows/locks for example. I definitely did not need nor want keyless start, dual climate control, HID headlights, but I'm OK that they were available for others that wanted to pay for them.

So why then do we have thread 99,999 on this subject? Because there is a percentage of owners that think their way is the only "right" way and everyone else feels the need to defend themselves.

I've been wanting to say all of this but couldn't piece my thoughts together into a coherent response, so I gave up many times. lol

Only reason why I kept responding to this stupid thread is because of people who want to be exclusive instead of inclusive. I originally wanted to buy this car with a manual transmission (being ~1k cheaper was a plus!). But when I test drove the auto, and combining where I live along with other factors, I bought an auto.

I wanted an s2000 before this car, and as far as I know it only comes in MT. As Dadhawk mentioned, most if not all of the AT owners would still buy the car if it only came in MT. We all have different priorities, preferences, and uses for the car.

Are you buying it for him? If so, that's super nice of you. If not, then why don't you let HIM buy what HE wants and what works best for his family? K? K.

How are paddle shifters a game changer???????????

Because he obviously doesn't know what he wants. And because there are unfortunate souls who bought NSXs, for example, with automatic transmissions. Too bad there weren't people in their lives like jaycee842 to save them from their wayward ways. But alas, we have used NSXs with auto transmissions. We try, but we can't be everywhere.

On top of that, there are all the fanboys who "thank" anyone who even hints at positive inclinations toward automatic transmissions in the twins. All in a attempt to muster validation for their erroneous decisions. Oh, the humanity, the humanity.
