did a ton of logging and yup...still maxing out at 7.25psi which tells me that I'm being constrained to wastegate pressure. So maybe there's something wrong with my EBCS...

Yes but I should be able to go beyond that with my boost controller. I'll have it checked out. worst case scenario is i put in my 10psi Tial Q spring but it's not as accurate at running off the boost controller to manage the pressure.

yup. already spoke with Ed at Equilibrium, Zach at Delicious, and Shiv (on our SBD FB group). All are telling me something wrong with the boost controller or the line going to it. the problem with running an 8psi spring or higher on this kit is that the BOV ends up staying open at idle which isn't the best thing to have it doing. I would have to find something to shim it to compensate for that. I bought another Prodrive 3port controller which should be coming in on tuesday just in case. I'm gonna have Young at Autotuned check it out first to see if there's something indeed wrong with the the line going to the controller.
I can easily put in my 10psi BOV spring but I'd rather have a more accurate means like a boost controller managing it. |

A turbo's pressure is regulated via exhaust flow. If you have too much pressure you bypass the turbo and let the exhaust go around it. If you have too little boost you force all (mostly all) of the air through the turbo until the pressure goes up or down. This is all done in the SBD kit with an internal wastegate. The blow off valve could not allow you to increase boost pressure because that means the turbo would have to produce enough volume of air to allow you to bleed it out. And if you were to do it this way then you would be adding extra back pressure in the turbo manifold when it is not needed lowering efficiency.
