not sure how my message wouldn't have gotten through. I have a PM history of around 30 messages back and forth with them previous to the 19th. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but after the third message being ignored I hope you can understand my frustration...

especially when a tune is so crucial to a the cars operation...

Thanks @Infamous Performance Thats kinda what I was figuring. Was just thinking second tier protection as a redundancy.

Thats really odd @Crazypinoy9 I usually hear back from Zach or Bill the same day. Im sure Zach will chime in here today and clear that up for you.

edit: You check your spam folder? For some reason, some of Delicious' emails end up in my spam folder.

Cheers.

Ya I Know it's odd right? Just all of a sudden one day the replies stopped. This wasn't by email. All my communication with Zach has been through PM here in the forum. His customer service had been great all the way up till that point when the replies stopped. I'd love to continue to use their services but I think it's reasonable enough for me to say that if i don't hear anything back soon I'm gonna have to buy my Flex Fuel kit (with pump/injectors) from Moto East and get a custom tune at Evasive or possibly Church Auto.

From the perspective of the tuner, I'm interested in your opinion on how you would integrate a failsafe unit like this one in conjunction with your tune.

TIA
Better safe than sorry. I too thought I had overboost protection until I overboosted and bent my rod that destroyed my engine. I was tuned for 9 psi on E85.

Ouch, sorry to hear. Who did your tuning? What failed that caused an overboost event?

I'm not exactly sure what failed or why it overboosted. I was tuned by Delicious Tuning. Regardless, I would highly recommend people build their blocks first just to be safe.

The stock rods are a weak point and bend/break rather easily.

As stated a few posts back, updates have been put on hold due to multiple bugs in RaceROM that were discovered on the latest patch. We are waiting for these bugs to be resolved before we release the tune updates, and the timeline on bugs being fixed is out of our hands since it is software related and not tune related. We are hopeful that EcuTek addresses the bugs soon, so that we can resume sending out updated tunes in a timely fashion.

Sincerely,

Zach

That will depend a bit on what turbo size, boost, and fuel type you plan on running. We had a MAP powered FR-S break 440 on our dyno awhile back if I remember correctly. A stock FR-S baselines on our Mustang dyno at around 150-155whp. This was on E85 at around 16-17psi on a stock block.

Sincerely,

Zach

Software bugs are common things in the ECU world. Manufacturers face it every days. They sometimes are very complex and takes time to solve.

The smart thing to do is wait for software update.

It's sometimes possible to solve the problem with a calibration change that may avoid the bug. You may do it if the bug is already out in the streets, while waiting for software correction or if you need to keep the factory running.

At our scale, it's smarter to wait for updated software.
