Honestly the stock exhaust is pretty free-flowing after the header. You can squeeze a few extra horses out of a full exhaust system but it isn't as substantial as other cars. This is why many professionals recommend replacing the header but not the rest of the exhaust. I believe CSG and Jackson Racing still use stock headerbacks on their track cars. I also have the stock exhaust on mine and I'm making between 250-280whp.

Back when I was running a Tomei 60S catback, I was still making the same level of power and using the same tune as with the stock exhaust setup. The extra volume was nice but personally I didn't find it necessary.

All that aside if you are looking for ROI on a car you are in the wrong place anyway.

Ahhhh very good point... Never thought of that!

When I say ROI I don't actually mean purposely investing in this expecting a return. But it is an investment... And one day we'll get some sort of return on it if/when we sell it..

feel me bois?

But yes smiles are the best ROI money can buy.

The discontinuation can go both ways. I'd actually rather see this car continue on through toyota's/subaru's line into a perminate model. Such as the Mustang to Ford. Think of it this way... everyone here has the first generation of the frs/brz/gt86/toyota86, imagine if they continue to make these cars for the next 50 years (we'll use that as an example). Ford did it with the mustang. Imagine, having the first production model of a new series of cars (64 mustang). If you have a 2013 frs and the year is 2050, you have the first generation of this 86car.

My brain is all jumbled up because i'm at work, but I believe/ hope you get my point.

Dicontinued car = more rare (Ford Edsel) = harder to find parts = more expensive parts = oem parts become scarce = aftermarket parts become more abundant = no original = not worth as much.

too many variables.

If you wanted a limited production model you should have bought a 10 Series or a 1.0.

I saw this car just a bit over a week ago in Japan at Mega Web:

For the price premium Toyota is asking, I don't think it's worth it. But let's hope female buyers in Japan are different...

Agreed, something like $35k-$40k USD just straight currency conversion? Would be less here but still likely above $30k for the full up model which includes a lot of stuff I don't care about (taillights, leather, re-worked dash etc.)

I just want the bumper and everything associated to make it fit (headlight housings, clips, etc.) I would be surprised if they bothered to change any mounting points, looks like the fenders and hood are unchanged. That shouldn't cost much more than two grand or so for the unpainted bumper and bits and bobs... But I suppose it is limited and with Toyota JDM markup, and they've required VIN's for special replacements in the past, I'll likely never get it unless I go over there myself and steal one.

Assuming GT Limited = $26k FRS, the Style CB is around $34-35k USD assuming the same price delta.

At that price point, it would be a supreme flop here. But there was enough demand in the Japan Domestic Market to justify production of it.
