You can take away that buyers remorse if you drive a manual in rush hour traffic on a hill.
They are a bit different, people say it's more involving but I would not discredit the auto at all. It's equally as fun on the twisties and you forget once you're up to speed. |

With what? The V6 minivan that doesn't care you exist that everyone says is faster? You'll blow her doors off without the turbo.
4 year old Mustang with a 5.0L V8 you could pick up for $20k? Nope. 15 year old Corvette you could have also picked up for $20k? Nope. Guy who slapped a turbo with water/meth injection on his 30 year old BMW for $10k? Nope. And that's after you drop money on the turbo, assuming you don't aim for 400+ horsepower by spending tens of thousands of dollars on forged components and a quality tuner. A manual transmission won't change that. I hope you enjoy your car, but it kind of sounds like you don't know what you just bought. |

The ability to be able to perform actual research seems to be a dying art form. The internet with it's wealth of knowledge is there for the taking but who wants to read all that stuff? The debate in the one thread on here shows that people feel all they should have to do is pop up and ask a question and everybody should be tripping all over themselves to answer in full detail. If you just point them to the existing information where they can read and form their own opinion you are called a troll and rude. Not saying questions are bad but many have very obviously never even made a basic attempt to find info before asking. I sometimes wonder how they even found this forum. I don't think the OP's issue is buyers remorse but more along the lines of the grass is always greener syndrome. Buying a new car is exciting and fun so sometimes rational thought gets pushed aside when the dopamine starts flowing. This is also why you sometimes see people that are very hyped about a car lose interest fairly quickly after they got it. In their head they may rationalize that it didn't fit their needs or expectations but it can also be that they enjoyed the rush of researching, shopping for and getting a car more that the actual ownership of it. The problem being their brain will never, ever let them know that so the pattern keeps repeating over and over as they keep moving from vehicle to vehicle.

Rule #1: Always test drive things you aren't familiar with that have the potential to be more fun and/or better than your original choice before buying, whether those things are other cars entirely or a different version of the same car (manual).
Rule #2: Manual is always better. :P

There are certainly good reasons to change and I knew yours was one of them ( my opening was just a friendly poke) . Was more directed at the OP and others of the "got one but now I want a XXX instead" crowd. I didn't make any of this shit up it is a known phenomenon of the mind that sometimes wanting is stronger then having.

Keep it. Save $10k and in less than 2years you should find a twin worth that much. If it bugs you that much, talk to dealer, maybe get a 2013 manual with more miles for a almost equal trade? I'd just keep it. Hope you learned your lesson lol
Biggest difference between auto and manual for me is that manual releases more of the essence of the car and you become more in touch with it. Auto is more like driving a can. Manual is a can with wheels. Just my thought. Quote:

FWIW if I ended up with an AT (maybe it was handed to me) I'd find my way into an MT asap, I'd happily take the hit of a model year older and 10k or 20k more miles on the MT car.
But that's just me, you couldn't pay some people to drive a manual. |
