Steering Wheels
Well...with a little over 2300 miles on the odometer, I can legitimately say I do not like the way my steering wheel feels. It feels extremely cheap IMO.
So I'm adding it to the list of things to possibly change out... My BRZ is an auto. Is there any issues with me replacing the wheel portion, or it effecting the functionality of the paddle shifters? My apologies if this has been addressed prior but my galaxy tablet or note II doesn't allow me to search the forum for some reason.

Are you wanting to replace it with an aftermarket wheel such as sparco/nardi/nrg where you'll need a boss hub?
Or do you want a direct oem replacement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think the paddles are just bolted into the wheel. I don't have an automatic, so I can't check, but I think you'd be able to relocate the paddles over, provided they have the correct mount points. Someone with the Prova/Cusco/TRD wheel can probably chime in.
RallySportDirect in the Prova DIY thread said it's not a problem for the Prova, for what it's worth. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35900 |

What about the DAMD Steering wheels? There are a decent amount of people on the forums running them and they all love it. The quality is the best in the industry.
![]() Stock compared to the DAMD.

That's a sweet looking wheel Kami.
I just started looking this afternoon for a wheel. So I'll be definitely shopping around. The big question I had was the compatibility of actually doing the swap and that's been answered. Thanks for the info guys!

It's a shame they didn't use a better quality leather on the stock wheel, I actually like it apart from that. The shape and color scheme are pretty good, relatively speaking-give or take those weird little palm swells at 10 and 2. From photos I think I like the TRD wheel best, but it's pretty far down my priority list and I'd like to see one in person first to be sure I'm not exchanging one piece of sticky vinyl for another...

Our FR-S is running the TOM'S Racing Japan Red/Black Premium Leather Steering Wheel! Night and day difference! The upper portion of the wheel is red leather (quite unique) and it is visible from the front of the car.

Have you checked out any alcantara options? Really can't beat the feel of that material and it really classes up the interior!
