But in all seriousness look up Bhut Jolokia. Thats the proper name for the pepper. But everyone seems to have given it the nickname ghost pepper. Speaking of which, just had a "ghost pepper" burrito at tacobell. dissapointed. No where near as hot as the real ghost pepper.

Reminds me of all these restaurants using Sriracha all of a sudden like it's the hot new thing. In my opinion it should have replaced ketchup as the standard condiment years ago. Food in Thailand had me crying like a 5 year old watching Pikachu trying to revive Ash in the Pokémon movie. |

Not spicy per say, but brief story about my first time at Sushiland (conveyor belt sushi chain place) about 6 years back.
While everyone else was staring at the belt to pick what they wanted, I spotted two jars in front of me. I opened one and saw some green stuff. I thought "whoa, they give out free ice cream?! Cool!!" Needless to say, I took my spoon, scooped it up, and placed a huge amount in my mouth. I started to tear up and my nose was burning. Turns out it was wasabi (yes, it's just colored horseradish). Still, learned my lesson... |

Had a jar of this, where a chip full had me close to tears. Weird, because I've had a couple jars prior, and it was hot, but not painful.

I love Indian and Thai food... and I love sriracha & sauerkraut on toasted hot dogs... don't like bland food. It doesn't need to be really, really hot... just spicy. I actually don't like stuff that just goes for the heat factor impact... the point is to get a good flavor, clean your palette, and flush your sinuses - not to completely ruin your sense of taste and make you miserable for a while...
I love habanero pepper sauces...my go to sauce for grilled beef/chicken wraps. Tabasco is what I grew up on and I always have around both at work and home - great for soups and gumbo. I just finished eating some spaghetti (turkey meat roasted with brandy, mushrooms sauteed in sake, and fresh diced tomatoes added in when I made it) that I topped with feta and sriracha sauce. MMmmmmm!
