I'd hope so considering it costs $26,000 USD and you need to buy 2 of them last I checked. |

They're worth it... Typical aftermarket parts look like junk after 2-3 years in the elements. These TRD parts are built to last to Toyota standards. I spent the extra money and went for it. Install and forget. I don't want to deal with paint flaking or looking cheap in general...

Nobody calls up a dealership to get one, you either have a direct line to Toyota's Racing Division or you don't. Having them on order through the dealership is just to make it legal for certain series where certain parts must be OEM provided. |

When Ken Stout racing gave up racing the FR-S in the PWC GTS class they sold off their stuff. $7K is exactly what a guy from Atlanta ended up paying for one of those SC. KSR could never get the car to work while SCed. Personally, I would not have bought one for even half that when there are proven alternatives avaiable if you want to go FI on this high compression engine that was not designed for FI. But I do like most TRD parts. My Spyder has some TRD stuff on it. Great quality. I put a USD TRD exhaust on my son's FR-S that I picked up for $300. It is solid and sounds great.

What would be best alternative to giving the FA20 about 35-50hp? Besides exhaust and intake/drop in filter. Street legal, of course. In your opinion.

$7k on parts tops, $3k on tune ups tops. Overall, $10k. No more. I'd rather save up to buy a Supra then spend more than $10k.

If you're looking at a CARB kit, get the Jackson Racing. If you want something like the TRD supercharger, look into the Edelbrock or Cosworth kits.

There have been a few modders that have achieved 200WHP with bolt ons and 93 octane tunes. As most stock twins only do about 155-170 WHP that is a pretty healthy gain. That is the route I would follow. Drop in filter w/ modded snorkel Crawford power blocks EL Header 3" exhaust from header back w/ high flow cat ECUTek Quality tune from Delicious Lightweight flywheel Lightweight wheels 4.56 FD conversion I think that would result in a pretty quick and reliable car. Before you make up your mind, read a lot of the mod threads on this site. Also take a look at the For Sale section and note how many FI cars are for sale on there. Ask yourself why that would be.
