TRD parts

Are the TRD add-ons worth it ? I paid for the trd exhaust and was wondering at the price if I would have been better off going after market or if this one is good.

Mine got added to my monthly payments. But I bought a new exhaust set up couple months later because I got bored of it :( (sold it for 400 bucks)

None of the TRD parts are worth MSRP...good/quality stuff, but do your research and buy used.

K thanks for the help

Yeah and that's why I went with the TRD brake pads, Filter, and Exhaust. I got them financed as a part of the car cost and they installed them for me before I picked up the car. They do mark you up on them though.

Is there any gains with the trd exhaust ?

Newtothegrounds 08-18-2015 05:11 PM

I got the larger brakes front and back and exhaust just wanted to know if they were good stuff or not

Catbacks don't really add any meaningful power on these cars. The bulk of the power to be gained from exhaust is with a catless header.

Sway bars, shift knob, steering wheel, body kit, wheels, exhaust. Screw it, GET ALL OF THE TRD STUFF! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a good amount of TRD accessories installed for aesthetic purposes - I'm happy with all the TRD parts I have, though as others have said you pay a slight premium for OEM.

Now I'm a little confused about the brakes as there are no larger brake upgrades made by TRD in NA - Do you just mean the sport pads? Forget spending money on that as the stock pads have great grip. Upgrade the pads when you feel wear on them and save a few hundred bucks.

The exhaust sounds great IMO, and is the perfect balance of quiet fir daily driving and noise for spirited occasions. If you want very loud though, you will be disappointed. The air intake is a nice looking addition to your engine bay as well.

The TRD shift knob is nice as well as the red push start (10 series and monogram only), though they are relatively pricey when compared to some alternatives. Hope this helps!

I agree, no TRD brake caliper upgrades available.

The pads however are cheaper than the OEM replacements and seem to be a solid street brake pad from what I can tell, when I wear through the stock brake pads I'll buy those but they won't be used for any sort of performance driving. Maybe I could find cheaper when searching but I'm not going to be fussed about saving $50 on an item I replace every 4 years/50k miles or so (they're ~$132 from the first result on google).

:burnrubber:

As for the other TRD stuff, yes you can find better aftermarket options if desired for the money.

I love my trd exhaust and it's totally worth it. I got it slightly used because I didnt wanna pay over 1k at msrp.

Packofcrows 08-18-2015 07:35 PM

They are worth it but not for full price. You can find those items 'newish' or new for UP TO 75% discount at times!

Just got out bid, so to speak, for a TRD intake with 800 miles for $140.

Quick question.

Does the TRD S/C (supercharger) bolt on easily on the FA20?
