Well, that's what I thought. lol

I wouldn't really call Mt Wilson road slow. But I'm sure you are like on different league so... haha

And let's not get too technical.... I know you know more about driving than most of the guys on the forum.

Technical, to me, means the flow of tight turns like Autocross. Nothing fancy.

Yeah! You can customize it so nobody can see your page unless you let them. Just use it as a meet up tool. haha

We are still figuring out the exact route. We usually mix it up since we do this like every two weeks. haha

Usually 80-100 miles in the canyons. Meet up betwen 6-7am, drive for like 2-3 hours, and chit chat on the top of the hills for like 30min-1 hour total. And we go for lunch after sometimes. So we usually stay together from 6-7am to noon-ish.

You can definitely take off during the run, it's not a problem.

Let me give you my perspective, because you're definitely on the right track.

You may find ACH less technical than GMR, because it takes less effort to go around the corners, and the corners seem isolated. However, think of it this way. If you reduce your pace at GMR to that of the casual Sunday family in a SUV, then GMR will also be effortless. Likewise, if you increase your pace at ACH to the point where you're at a similar level of "pushing the limits of grip", then the corners suddenly seem much closer together, and flow into each other. More than likely, the pace at ACH to get to that point is probably beyond your comfort zone; it certainly is for me.

I've backed off well into triple digit speeds, knowing that I could still go significantly faster, but the risk isn't worth the reward...

Likewise, SoWS is often referred to as "technical", because it's slow enough that most people can push their cars there, hard, within their comfort level. WSIR is considered a "power track", and anything but technical, but to me, WSIR is the difficult track, not SoWS. At SoWS, because people can push the lateral grip limits, they call it technical, whereas at WSIR, most people will back off from fear, before they hit the lateral grip limit of their car. At SoWS, I'm fighting for grip at speeds generally under 80. At WSIR, I'm fighting for grip at 125+, and I'm still backing off.

Side note: virtually everyone I know that's fast at the track hits the canyon. A lot.

That makes sense!

The only thing I was just trying to point out was that Mt Wilson road is just much tighter than the main ACH road. Just like how the Upper Big Tujunga road off ACH is like 5 times faster than the main ACH road.

I can't say anything about GMR since I've never been there. Is that like one main road? Not much of different routes off that road?

Yeah it's one main road, but it also leads to other rods. It's just full of really tight corners. Every other few seconds there is a damn blind corner lol

GMR front side and back side are all 2nd gear corners. GRR is a mix of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear corners.
