I paid 28,500 out the door for mine. 5 months old with 9000 miles when I bought it. It was the cheapest one I could find in the country last April. I recently saw one selling for $32,000. A car is only worth what someone will pay for it, not what some random person on a forum tells you it's worth.

^^ what he said. I know a friend who sold his privately for 27k before taxes. You can buy a brand new one at that price! But there are people willing to pay for limited editions. You might wanna just grab a new limited at 0.9%

Yea started looking at those too, you can get 0% financing in the southeast for them. Man I just wish I could get an auto, they are so much cheaper.

Wow. Some of the prices people are paying for these seem rather high. I bought mine brand new for 27,350+TTL back in October. Maybe that's because winter was coming and I live in Chicago, lol.

That is what I've been thinking. Maybe I need to wait for the 2016's and the snow to come, I am pretty sure none of these are going to sell if the dealers won't negotiate at all.

Yep. That's what I've been saying... Planet Subaru always has some BRZ inventory while other dealers don't, but they charge a premium for what the do offer it seems.

So I just had the absolute worst dealer experience ever. The salesperson was totally clueless and thought that was a good thing, absolutely refused to even pretend to try and negotiate, when we brought up prices in other parts of the country he actually laughed about buying a car and having it shipped. I've read about arrogant Subaru salesperson, but holy crap this guy was treating subaru's like they were Ferrari's. Just total asshole mode today. I mean seriously, I traveled almost an hour to visit, treat me like I am a human, not someone who has zero clue. I bet this place will be in trouble within the year. You know where I went, planet subaru. This place makes the black plague look good. If you want to meet an amazingly clueless arrogant salesperson, go there. Seriously makes me want to never even think about Subaru, even though I've been a gigantic fan for 15+ years.

Thst sucks, man, but don't forget that the salespeople only really represent the dealership, and that while the dealership does "represent" the manufacture, we know that isn't really the case.

Having said that, I think the problem with Subaru's recent explosive sales growth in the past few years (and resulting lack of inventory) is that many sales people aren't worried about turning a customer away because they know there are 10 more lined up ready to buy it.

When I bought my Series.Blue, I first tried the local dealership where I lived, and the sales person was pretty much an arrogant asshole. Then someone on this very forum recommended a different dealership on the other side of Chicago, and I had a fantastic experience there and they went above and beyond to get me taken care of.

Something I learned in the IT business is that if at first the bottom of the chain of command is an idiot/asshole, move up the food chain. Chew their asses out, and move on.

Subaru sells itself hence some local salesmen are rude or clueless but still can survival. Believe it or not, but the first month most of dealers of sunny states (i.e California) sells series blue with mark up price or within msrp. Series blue were also delivered before all of other 2015 brz into the dealership.

I've been working up the street from Planet Subaru for 3 months now; those cars haven't budged. I'm kinda surprised you had a bad experience there; I thought they were all earthy-crunchy people over there. They refuse to hire people who are already salespeople because they think it's "bad for their image" or something. I worked at Quirk Subaru for two years and heard plenty of bad service dept. stories about Planet, but I thought the salespeople would be better, especially because they're paid salary. Wish I still sold Subarus; I'd love to give you a good purchase experience!

There's a silver FR-S up at Prime Infiniti, just in case you might be looking (I don't work there).

yea, the problem with not hiring salespeople is you get clueless people who have no idea what they are doing. That is what I had. Ownership that is cheap or naive try this type of thing and either go out of business fast or realize it doesn't work and hire real salespeople for commission really fast. Now it might work for some non car person looking to buy a forester or something else boring, but for someone who knows what they are doing, and has actually worked at a dealership, it is totally infuriating dealing with that crap. It is one thing to know more about the vehicle than the salesperson, that is obvious, but to know more about what the sales process should be? That is insane.

And what is crazier is they just bought another one, and a STI Launch series. They are never going to sell these cars.

And thanks for the tip, but I am getting a blue car, whether it be a limited or a series.blue, I am tired of not having a blue car.
