series.blue used values
So I am going to go to a dealership that actually has two used series.blues #1#2on the lot. From what I have seen maybe at least 1 they have had for a month, so I am hoping to negotiate the hell out of them.
Does anyone have any actual prices for these barely used cars? I've looked around online and I have not come up with anything concrete. I really want one of these but I really don't want to spend the money. |
Yeah look at the sticker on the door for the date of production. Determine how many months it's been on the road for. How many miles does it have?
The residual value for a BRZ Series.Blue after 24 months with 20,000 miles is 59%. That's 17,868.15 from an MSRP of $30,285. Obviously the car isn't two years old, but if it has 20,000 miles you can use this as a negotiation tool. Also, the invoice of the BRZ Series.Blue when new was $28,763. So I wouldn't pay more than that. If you average the invoice & the residual value you'll get $23,315.58. I'd say this is a fair price especially because it is a limited edition car and hasn't even been out for a year. If the car has low miles, expect to pay 10-20% more than this. Here's some pricing reference: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-...es.Blue-t56038 |
Id be surprised if they let it go for less than $26k
|
yeah you're dreaming if you think they'd let it go for ~24k. Series blue is still in demand
|
Is it? There are so many of them sitting on dealers lots, it is kind of crazy. Plus it looks like they've had both for a month, and dealers hate that. We'll see what happens.

They are super rare collectors cars bro

Yeah a car that's in demand doesn't sit on a lot for a month lol.
Use good negotiation tools. Give the salesperson a lot of reasons why you do not want buy the car. Tell them you don't like the color, or if it has too many miles. Tell them you can get a new BRZ/FR-S for exactly or less than this used one. Whatever you do, don't acknowledge that you're aware that the series.blue is a limited edition car. |
A couple of months back we confirmed that all series Blues were sold, and also there were only a couple of used series blue listings. (Someone totaled their car and wanted a series blue). I'm sure the dealer doesn't like the car sitting there, but if they're not stupid, they'll know it'll eventually sell
Just my opinion though! I know someone sold one private party for much more than what veloist is suggesting |
I am curious how much you can end up getting it. But my feeling about it is that dealer are pretty firm with the price. it is still 2015 and no 2016 model yet, and they knew it is limited, they may not pricing like other cars and that is why they are in the lot for a long time. Another thing is that if it is not local trade in, they might paid a lot at auction. I am also sure the dealer doesnt mind to put it at showroom or road display since it has factory aero kit and sti wheels to attract peoples attention. See, you made us click their web site already, their site exposure hit sure gone up after they have those vehicles (marketing tool). In addition, some people are looking for particular model and the chance for them to sell the car out of town or state is good. my whole point is that i don't think they are desperate in selling them quick.

Yea, that could be true if they had one they were showing off, but having two makes me think they thought they could sell them.
I'd be shocked if it wasn't a trade in simply because there are only 2 other brz's anywhere near me and both are used. No new inventory at all. But we'll see. If they won't budge I'm not going to buy it. Not interested in a used car that is more than the new ones. |
The ones at planet subaru are over priced. People were buying series blues for invoice which was about $27 and change when they were new. Not many made it into New England, so any series blues you see for sales were "imported" from other states.
Both have been there for over a month. Here's the autocheck report for both: http://www.cars.com/for-sale/Vehicle...s&aff=national http://www.cars.com/for-sale/Vehicle...s&aff=national I've been watching prices in our area for the past year and a half, and planet seems to offer a lot of inventory that they've bought at auction. |

Search for series blue and "how much did you pay" threads here for pricing (new and used)... There's a bunch of used twins on craiglist in our area. http://southcoast.craigslist.org/sea...7Cfrs%7Cbrz%29 |
