I just installed these springs on Monday, I had the shifter installed for awhile now. With the springs there's a slight increase in effort to move side to side, but it is much smoother moving through the gears. I don't see a downside to these springs at all, especially given the price.

I hate to say it, but if the effort of this shift setup is too high, I don't think the fault lays in the setup.

Keep in mind I said with a kb short shifter (which also increases the effort to shift because shorter throws). I like the springs on stock shifter.

The springs increase the effort to get out of a gear, once out, it is very easy to shift into the next gear. Harder to get it to just go into neutral because it would just 'pop' into the next gear.
