OFT uses RomRaider... Anyone who tunes subarus should be able to tune with an OFT. Call and talk to Ron at RS. I have no complaints with my OFT tunes, I am on E85 tho... The stage 2 EL tune was a big plus over the stock map.

Hows your throttle response? Mine is absolutely terrible. I think thats the source of my dissatisfaction.

did you follow the appropriate steps? my throttle is fine. How long has it been since you uploaded the tune? if you touch the throttle before the ecu calibrates the new tune, you can have some dead spots when you hit the gas pedal. it should eventually self-adjust though.

I saw that bit. Maybe Ill try reloading it.

From what I remember it just said to let it idle for 45 seconds before driving it. Other than that I dont remeber it having any other tips for letting it learn.

On the e85 tune I know its dont drive it hard until the ecu learns the blend.

I uploaded it a few weeks ago.

I just remember the throttle response was the first thing I noticed on the test drive. DBW sucks. Looks like you can tune it out though. I really need to get into RomRaider and start playing with settings.

SM Speed (Jordan previously of MAP) uses BRZ Edit but said he'll try OFT if I bring in all the required hardware/software. LJ at Full blown uses ECUTek. Shane at DB uses.... I dont remember what he uses but it's probably ECUTek if he's even done any 86's. I've never dealt with Ron/RS.

Forgot about NF but Im sure theyd be willing to tackle it. Also probably on ECUTek.

I see, thanks for the info! I plan on keeping it stock engine-wise for the foreseeable future, but that is good info to have.

I followed these steps when loading my tune, I didn't have an issue with the dead spots.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71157

My Throttle Pedal has dead spot - car sluggish after Flashing Tune

To minimize any issues and speed up learning after a Flash or Reset

  • Turn ignition fully off after a flash or reset
  • Turn ignition fully ON, do not start car, do not touch throttle, leave for 20 sec this will allow ECU to perform its diagnostics and calibrations on cam position and throttle position sensors
  • Turn off ignition
  • Turn on ignition leave for 20 sec then start car do not touch throttle
  • Let car idle for at least a minute and wait till it settles at the normal idle of about 750 RPM, again do not touch throttle.
  • After normal idle is achieved then drive car.

Yep, I'll be at the test n tune this Thursday, but I'll be helping out/instructing. I'll probably take my car out for a few laps too, but I'll be on the prius tires (I need to save my RE71's for autox nats). I unfortunately won't be able to make the event on the 21st due to a wedding

I was going to try and make it. I should be getting tires and wheels mounted tonight but the suspension won't be done until Thursday at the earliest. I might skip the suspension and just come by to watch my friend in his SI.
