@SUB-FT86 I'm sorry if I offended you man. The 86 is just way too damn heavy is all I'm saying. To be honest I'm surprised it can even propel itself carrying around all that extra poundage.

What cars have you guys driven??!?!

2700lbs is heavy?!?!

Ahem you guys realize the M Cars from BMW start at like 3200lbs right?
The Miatas have pretty much always been under 2500lbs. You can do that when you don't have a back seat, a roof, and almost 2 feet less of car behind your head.

The MT test really came down to weight and torque versus the FT.
The Miata is 400lbs less, and gets nearly the same 150lbs of torque at 1500rpm sooner.

Take 400lbs off the weight of the BRZ and FRS and test again.
The results would be BRS/FRS win.

But again, it's an apples to oranges comparo.
I'm a Miata fan (former MCA member), but my butt isn't hurt over tests like this.

Exactly man! If the 86 wasn't a fat cow it would have won.

Calm down, guys. My fat pig S2000 is faster than both.

But the S2000 is also slow.

eww no 5.0. this is not a mustang. Just twin charge it. There is an 800 hp Lotus with a Toyota 1.8 out there, you could get a reliable 300 hp if you twin charged the FA.

Leg room behind me is basically non-existent (I'm 6'2") but the seats themselves are quite deep and my girls can sit cross legged very comfortably.
I opted for rear seats because it offers room for tools, wheels, and track/autocross stuffs. Can't do that with an s2k or mx5.

Eh, the Toyota 2ZZ powered twin charged Elise only made 680HP and he wrecked it.

There is a 800HP Elise but it has a twin charged Honda K20 in it.

The highest I have seen (heard about) out of a FI 2ZZ is 700HP.

Posts like the one above and many before it show how deluded Miata lovers and 86 haters can be relative to any 86 fanboy. This thread is full of pots calling kettles black. These cars don't drive the same and don't target the same audience. All the bitching is lame. Why are both cars mutually exclusive? Must be because we're on a forum...

One reason I never got one. I can actually haul shit in the FRS. I consider the 86 the drivers version of an El Camino.
