Student Parking decal and tinted glass. Suggestions needed
Happy 8/6 day.
My front window is tinted. It a clear tint but helps to keep uv rays out, save my eyes, and keep the car cooler. I love it. Now I have to adhere a student parking decal on the interior front windshield in the lower passenger side corner. If i do as instructed, it would be on the tint and impossible to remove without damaging said tint. I will also at some point have to apply state issued stickers and be faced with the same issue. Anybody have any solutions that would possibly save my front tint from irreprable damage/marring? Tia

Presume they must be affixed directly to the windshield ruling out tapes or gums?

put the stickers on first, and then tint over it and cut around it?

I've thought about this myself. Though I don't have my front tinted, I thought about a way to make removable permits/parking passes. I considered laminating the sticker front and back, so that no part of the sticker is sticky. Then somehow tape the sticker to the window.

Put on piece of clear removal cling film plastic then put the sticker on that?
I don't know the exact product but it usually is found on deli cases where they write prices on it. |

Oh good one! The cling will probably even stick to the tint without damaging it. I must remember that one.

I would take a wedge of something, put the decal on the wedge, and wedge the wedge in the corner of the windshield whilst on campus so that the sticker was in the correct spot and flush against the window. Just don't forget to put it there when you park. Use dark material so the parking patrol doesn't notice it.
I'd bet they don't allow that. They want it affixed to the window to rape the students for more money. That way a student with multiple cars can't just buy one sticker and move it from car to car, but instead has to buy one for each vehicle. They probably also charge for temporary permits when you have a rental or borrowed car. Fucking cheap bastards. |

I had to do the same thing for my parking pass. I used some clear vinyl that I had left over from a headlight protection kit. I just cut a piece of vinyl larger than the sticker. Put the sticker on the sticky side of the vinyl and then applied it onto the windshield from the inside.

I have a work parking pass stuck inside one of those clear name tag holders then I just wedge that in the bottom corner of the windshield while at work. Stays up just fine.
Something like this (I am not endorsing it, its just an example) http://www.4imprint.com/product/1006...150806203755:s |
