The helper spring pushes UP at the top of travel to make the pedal feel like there's no slack because people expect new cars to be a certain way.
As you push the pedal down, the arrangement of the spring and levers means that it starts pushing down with you to make the clutch pedal much lighter. If you adjust the pedal downward, you could put it in a position such that the spring is always pushing down, like a foot resting on the pedal. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

It is an over-center mechanism and, like Slysdexia says, reverses its action. I used to worry about the possibility of adjusting the pedal too low until I studied it more closely. It doesn't switch over until very deep into the travel.

If you want, I know MTEC makes lighter spring to take up the slack, though there will still be a dead zone at the top. I just flat-out removed the spring assembly over a year ago and have no issues. The slack/wobble is something you're only going to notice when looking at it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

I get to the very end where I have to remove the assembly, it constantly pops back into place. Even when I give it a ton of pressure I cannot properly remove it. Is there a trick that I am missing? I am pressing it up with a flathead I get it about 70% of the way out but since its a flat surface and the pedal has a rounded edge it gets stuck. It won't move, I even tried to insert another flat head into the assembly to prevent it from snapping back, once I do that I press with another flathead upwards to remove it and no luck.

My buddy is bringing over his grips right now, I am going to try this; I tried to compress the spring with zip ties but that came with extreme failure.

yeah, I had the same experience. the zip ties got grease on them and just slid open. Good luck with it.

I used a flathead, anger, and a hammer to get it out. Best decision of my life, although the wobble is kind of annoying it doesn't make a big deal honestly.
