I made the switch...

Today marks the day that I traded in my 2013 BRZ Limited. After two major issues in under 4 months (tranny and P0016 code), sub-par snow/winter performance (yes I bought snow tires), and a really sub-par dealership, I made the switch.

To a 2016 Ford Fusion Ecoboost AWD.

I had a great time in the BRZ and met a lot of great people. I'll probably stick around the forum.

As for the Fusion, it doesn't handle as well, duh, but it feels quicker. It has a ton more torque and is more comfortable to drive. I'm happy with my purchase, but I'll miss the BRZ forever.

Well at least it ain't a Charger.
I test drove one when I was shopping before the FRS. Not to bad for a big heavy sedan. Ford has made some huge strides in the last few years.
Hope you enjoy it and don't miss the BRZ too much.

It's almost like people buy these cars on a whim or something....

Says the guy who traded it for a 2015 WRX

Threads like these really show us that this car is really a toy. And for people who can't have two cars it gets the better of them and they regret it.

I am in the position to DD another car right now and I love it honestly. When I have to give it up I think I am going to get a new wrx as a DD. Unless my practical side wins out and I get a fit.

Sorry you had to waste your time and money OP. At least you got the tank you always wanted now

Thanks guys, it was a fun adventure. I do regret the money I spent, but in the end, I think it was probably worth it.

They gave me about $18,5 for it.

I think that about sums it up nicely, especially for those of us who live in cold winter climates. I tried using my BRZ as a DD for 2 years but ended up adding a Jeep Cherokee to the mix to provide winter and hauling coverage.

living in NY its probably a pain to drive in the snow with this car.

I works great as DD in warm area though and especially in crowded city since its quite small.

I had Blizzaks on my BRZ and live in Minnesota. With Blizzaks and some weight in the back I really did not have many issues with inclimate weather. The car was very easy to control even on slick roads. Was it as confident inspiring as a WRX with snow tires? No. But I had little issues and never was paranoid about driving it in the snow.

The backseat not being practical for real people is probably more of a legitimate complaint than the weather.

I know I'm going to regret getting rid of it, but its not really practical for an all year round DD. The Fusion has AWD, plenty of torque, and all the creature comforts I could ask for. The only thing its lacking is the insane handling, but I can't really expect that out of a ~3,600 lb car.

My car did great until I had no momentum. In order to get to work, I have to pull out of my driveway right onto the middle of a hill. I made it up a few times, but got stuck there once. That kind of did it. In my line of work, I NEED to be at work every day I'm scheduled, so not being able to make it because of the car is a bad thing.

And yeah, the Fusion is a tank, but I like it.

Meh, it's all modern expectations. Say that to the East German family who was thrilled when they could afford a Trabant. I grew up in Western NY surrounded by VW beetles in various states of service.

Best DD/XC vehicle I've ever owned but I drink my water from the tap and wash with bar soap.
