Nameless UEL and FP/OP combo thoughts

I Have the chance to get a rev works UEL uncatted and Nameless FP/OP resonated pretty cheap.

Read reviews if rattling from fp/op, anybody have any other thoughts on this set up or have this setup? With sound clip or have reviews for either piece?

Trying to have as little rasp as possible while keepin the subaru rumble.

I am current running Invidia N1 catback and invidia catless non red front pipe

UPDATE: Header sold, so just opinions on the FP/OP Resonated

You're not going to have the rumble with a Nameless header because it only comes in EL.

Personally, I'd go with JDL if you want spot on fitment, UEL rumble, and high quality.

Yea the header sold, I'm just looking to switch from non catted no res. Invidia front pipe I have and I have a solid deal on the Nameless fp/op resonated l. Was wondering it they have issues I was reading about some fitment issue and rattling. Also wanted to see if they would be significantly less rasp and drone then the invidia I have

Fit is hit or miss with it sometimes. Your rasp problem will be solved just with a catted front pipe as I've run this setup.

One of my old setups was a JDL UEL, JDL OP, Invidia Catted FP, and Invidia N1. Didn't have any rasp, just some drone. Sounded real deep like a WRX.

The helmholtz resonator will hopefully help you with the drone, but ultimately this is why I ended up with a Perrin 2.5" resonated catback. Get the best of both worlds with that exhaust.

I just recently sold my JDL UEL, JDL OP, JDL catted FP, and the Perrin 2.5" resonated catback as I'm selling my car but I'm sure the new owner is extremely happy. Literally has the perfect exhaust note through all RPM's and sounds incredible without the nasty drone or any rasp.

Does the OP really affect engine note much?

If it is the old can style resonator I would stay away as those create obnoxious metallic pinging under heavy throttle when paired with a header.

If it's the new ball style resonator, it will help with drone and make the car quieter on the highway at the cost of minor metallic pinging under heavy throttle in the 3-4k rpm range.

As for the fitment: I have personally installed 4 different Nameless front/over pipes 5 different times on 2 separate cars without a fitment issue.

Not really. It's nice to match the 2.5" OD of the header with a 2.5" OD overpipe. They all work in conjunction with each other.

I think someone did tests on it a while back and it didn't show much difference between switching OP's. Personally, I loved matching my chrome coated OP to my chrome coated header since it could be seen in the engine bay. The overpipe still gets pretty hot.

I have the nameless opfp 2.5" non resonatedpaired with perrin 3" catback resonated no rattle noises. Idk if the nameless resonater has rattling issues ive heard of people having trouble fitting it. I had to raise engine up two inches to fit it in though. Wish someone would have told me that part before. I have jdl eul headers on the way soon and will post a video of how it sounds. Ill get an audio of it as it is now up soon

You need to raise the engine for any overpipe install really. Even when I went back to stock, I went ahead and removed the bolt, jacked up the oil pan with a block of wood, and it came out with ease.

Well... Someone said of my car: "I just wanted to tell you that on Sunday I noticed that your car is the only Toyobaru I've heard so far that I think actually has a quality boxer rumble sound to the exhaust."

Nameless header, 3" catted resonated JDL over/frontpipe and resonated D2 exhaust

YMMV

Exactly. The definition of rumble is different for some. Most people define it as the UEL burble that's normal of pre 2015 WRX's and STI's. After hearing the exhaust note of the 2015 and 2016 WRX, it's very clear Subaru is moving away from the UEL.

What are your setup specs? Are you running a turbo?

NA. Setup for STX and AutoX. Intake (Grimmspeed) and tune are the only power mods other than the header and 3"exhaust.
