Once we pop this motor, we will throw our built engine in, a 6466, and let her buck

You (or your tuner) guys need to be taking video of every dyno run from here on out...I wanna see what happens when that sucker comes apart.

The RWD R34's (2.5L 25GT-T) are reasonably priced ($10-$20k). Proper AWD GT-R's are still $30k+, $40k+ if you want clean low-mileage ones. When you add the cost to maintain and mod a GT-R, I'd rather just save a little extra and get a GT350 or a C7 Vette.....too bad C7 Vettes are ~$100k here.
Oh I'm pretty sure it would get old, but it would be more of a "check this off my bucket list type deal." Play with it for a year, get it out my system, eat the financial losses... and then melt the tarmac with a RHD GT350 like you said

Speaking of GT350, do they restrict things like Stang's and Vettes to that stupid 118mph Japanese governor or is that only in-house Jap cars?

I personally think this is the best looking Stang of all the ones that came before but it's sad that it's the heaviest at the same time.

Agreed - I had so much hope that the GT would be under 3500lbs. That said, the GT350 makes me all kinds of tingly.

I'd wait until the other shoe drops, i.e., see what the lighter 2016 Camaro can do. Historically Chevy's 1LE SS package has also been more track-ready compared with Ford's track pack.

Adding lightness in todays regulatory ecosystem is one of the most challenging and expensive endeavors for an auto manufacturer.

That's why people don't get it when we say that the 86 cars are not overpriced.

The 86 has the platform....but

The 5.0 has the engine

If you want lightweight and potent engine from factory you'll have to buy a Cayman GTS or Alfa 4C at 75k

Zackly - easier to add power than lightness, too.

But then an 86 and Mustang got married and had offspring:
