my Other, Other, vehicle. KP61 Starlet

So, the BRZ is the most expensive, heaviest, and most luxurious car i've ever owned. huge learning curve when behind the wheel, as i'm used to being able to toss what i'm driving around, without as much concern for mass in motion.

Here's my lightest vehicle:

1982 starlet. I'm in the throes of a high compression 4AGE build, utilizing a Borg Warner EFR turbo, E85, Air to Water intercooling, and all the supporting mods.

Meet MeJulie!

velocity stacks, laid out with a smallport flange for spacing, to build my intake plenum

counterbored the mounting plate to allow them to sit flush inside the intake box

a narrowed chevy 10bolt rear end, with old school supra rear discs, and aw11 rear calipers:

the car is littered with TechnoToyTuning parts, including the rear suspension:

here's how the layout will be.

some shiny internal goodies:

including this gorgeous crank girdle (smuggled back from Barry Manon in New Zealand

more to come

you do indeed see a te72.

those pix were taken at the shop where the car was imprisoned (the shop owner took me for a ride, really screwed me over, back in florida).

Very sweet KP man...will be keeping an eye on this thread! I've always wanted one of those and to put a blacktop in it. Here's my favorite Starlet on Youtube:

imprisoned. I've been using that word lately myself. I've gone 8 months with my project car in my fabricator shop owner's driveway...

Meanwhile i sold my other project car for the daily, the new "86" (frs...)

Found a 1974? sedan for sale, lots of rust, but ran good or so I thought then and for $1000 and thought, "what a cr@p car," and now regret it. Shoulda bought it. 2007

MMMM, starlets! My friend owns an 81 that was used as a Domino's delivery car for...20 some odd years? An old fleet vehicle. Yours is in considerably better looking shape, but a KP is a KP! They're hard to find.

And of course its littered with T3 goodies! They're the only ones making aftermarket goodies for that car that's easily accessible. And they have a good selection to choose from. Can't wait to see her finished!

Also, how do you feel about those real coilovers? I've always been on the fence about that setup, since it puts a lot more stress on the rear shock tower than was originally designed. Especially when it comes to these (AE86 as well) old econo chassis'.

You sold the E72 liftback or that's your current project? It'd be hard to let go of a liftback, considering they're one of the harder ones to find.

Awesome Starlet build, always love 'em.

I would love to get my hands on another TE72 if I ever could... I had a coupe SR-5 though, not a liftback.

Other project is a tacoma, actually. Sold the liftback to use as down payment for the FR-S. I needed a daily bad, 2 project cars left me either stranded or stealing the gf's car all the time. Still sad thinking about it, until I get in the FR-S and start driving

I came across a kp71 3tc swap couple years ago. I wanted to buy it so bad but unfortunately the car sold the same day of posting.
