Can you use the stock GPS antenna with these units?

It seems that the various versions only differ slightly in software, hardware seems to be the same with sometimes differing screen resolution

Going to look through the XDA thread to learn some more, but very close to grabbing one

:edit

ordered the JY one
Correct, hardware is near identical and roms are interchangeable. Definitely look around that xda thread.

No, the unit comes with its own. Behind the radio there is a medal ledge that I put it on which works perfectly.

Thanks for the heads up, any source? Perhaps a link to the manufacturer/seller to keep checking?

I don't see the point in needing and waiting for lollipop. Is there a feature that you absolutely need from lollipop? Plus, in the near future the modders will probably have a port for these units anyway.

Just received my JY unit. Can confirm that the amp wire needs to be pinned in their adapter harness. The remote antenna wire is pinned, but the FRS/BRZ does not use it. I stole the pin and crimped the loose "AMP+" wire to it and pinned it in pin 9.

Other than that, fit great and I initially thought I got the wrong harness as the very large plug is not even used (seems to be speed input, USB/aux etc.) Will locate and buy an adapter to use the usb/aux if I can find out, pretty sure I saw a link in the XDA thread

USB: Axxess AX-TOYUSB
Aux: Axxess AX-TOY28SWC

Someone said you may need to re-pin one of the wires on the aux adapter, I do not remember.

I think the plug your talking about is for steering wheel controls which unfortunately we do not have. IIRC, there is a wire in one of the unused plugs that tells the hu you're in reverse for reverse cam.

Got this installed and did a wireless backup cam (much easier than running RCA cables through the car). Thinking about getting the OEM Audio 400-CF system as well.

Anyone on here with this headunit or similar with the reference 400-CF system installed?

I've got the OEM Audio+ system with the Ca-Fi unit. Works great. My OEM Audio+ amp was calibrated by them for a Pioneer head-unit. They recommend you send it back to get reprogrammed when switching to a different head unit, but I haven't seen a need.

Some shots of the unit installed, including settings page showing cpu/mcu etc. and a gratuitous victory wash shot.
Cam is mounted to the left of license plate, I initially had it mounted in the trunk key hole to the right but ended up drilling the plastic trunk piece to mount.

Cam is aimed low, but still works for me as I mainly use it to check that there are no immediate obstructions I would otherwise not be able to see.

Also, the screen seems blurry in the photos, but it actually looks VERY crisp in person. Resolution is only 800*480 but it looks great, no artifacts around small text

I have the 2016 BRZ with the backup camera built in. Does anyone know if this radio is compatible with that? I'm not sure if it's just using a RCA jack like a normal camera.

I don't see why not. You will need to pull it out to see what the wires look like. I'm thinking it's not going to be a an RCA connector, it's probably going to be either included in another harness/plug or it will be its own harness/plug. In which case you will need to figure out what wire is what (+,-,V+,V-) and connect the leads to the new radio accordingly. You will also need to use a multi-meter to confirm the OEM radio camera voltage matches the Android radio camera voltage.
