Yea those plugs that come with the unit are harder to work with then Metra plugs. I broke two wires while trying to pull pins out, I had a use needle nose pliers to get it out then solder the wire back on.

Not. Bad. The newsmy unit had my attention as well, but I like the more liberal use of buttons on this one.

Android head units. The way of the future.

For anyone that has this unit, I found that you can fix the tuning knob by going into factory settings and change 'Keymap...' to 'Option 1'.

Prior to this fix, turning the knob left would go to the 3rd or 4th track in the current folder, and turning it right would advance it to the track after that--the knob was basically useless. Very happy to be able to change tracks when I have navigation or some other app open.

For anyone considering these, I would wait. There will be many new models coming to market with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Metra 40-LX11

Make sure you connect the antenna booster to your amp turn on wire or you will get no reception.

Looks like I'm a little to late as I already bought it and got it in. Oh well I suppose.

Thanks for the part number

The question is when, and is lollipop worth the wait for what most of us will use the deck for?

I personally don't really like lollipop, I'm 100% fine with 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 roms that are available, with root. Plus, a flashable lollipip rom will probably be available soon.

Does anyone have an idiots guide on how to get the front door speakers back on. I've looked at the wiring diagrams but I'm not exactly sure what I have to re pin or even if that's the correct solution.

They should still work.. Check if the amp trigger wire and speaker output wires are in the correct pin locations.

I've been looking at the Joyous version of this radio as well

http://www.dx.com/p/joyous-2-din-and...0#.VYYLGflVhBc

It seems that the various versions only differ slightly in software, hardware seems to be the same with sometimes differing screen resolution

Going to look through the XDA thread to learn some more, but very close to grabbing one

:edit

ordered the JY one
