I think they should do what Mazda did with the new miata, increase the power, meaning torque, and maybe lighten it if possible. That would really increase the fun factor!

Mission statement was "Low weight at any cost".

That armrest would have been an extra 10 lbs.

Hang around for a few generations of this car, I am sure it will become a bloated pig like all other sports cars as each revision adds the creature comforts that are demanded. Look to the 240Z, the Miata or the RX-7 for examples of this evolution.

You could EASILY blow another two grand on cosmetics before you even touched anything under the hood.
After market tow hooks ARE cosmetic. If it is colored or aluminum, it is cosmetic. There is a free one in the trunk.

Miata got lighter. RX-7 got two turbos. Z became a Japanese mustang.

The 2016 has less peak power, but more mid-range power and more torque overall and earlier. That coupled with being lighter makes it quite a bit faster and better handling than the old MX-5

Your point would be that Mazda learned from their mistakes. Course, they seem to have screwed up again and put the steering wheel on the wrong side!

I corrected the issue for $40 with properly engineered pieces. Absolutely amazing you get the steering feel you do from the car with its crap factory setup... but the weird steering hesitation mid-turn is a telltale sign.
I'm a noob is there a video for this or a link you can give me? :p
